Because you want to! That's a good enough reason, surely?

What's with this "my nanna" business? How old are you? If you're a child and your parents have enrolled you in a class, you should ask your parents and then tell your "nanna" their answer. If this seems like too much trouble, just tell her that you're learning it because it's what your parents want.

If you're an adult or a teenager, on the other hand, I wonder: If you don't already have a very good reason, why are you learning it? That is a question you should be able to answer on your own!

More and more people begin to learn Chinese, because here is clear career potential for the future. Childhood, I think, is the best period to start to learn Chinese or other language, so begin learning Chinese as early as you can. I suggest you take courses in language training school, because it can help you learn easier and faster. Check this site http://www.learnchinese.bj.cn It may help you. Good luck!

Because it is the most widely spoken language in the world. This means that if you want to get a job, especially one in business or something else involving foreign relations, being able to speak Chinese will be a huge help.
Also, if it's something that you want to do, and you enjoy doing, that should be enough.
