Comparing Australia and Italy is like comparing apples and oranges.
It's a decision you have to make, both countries are so very different to each other.
It also depends on where in Australia you wanted to visit.
North Queensland and Darwin would be lovely in mid-March.
No matter which you choose have a lovely honeymoon.

Hard. Being an Aussie, Italy seems very different. That may have to do with the fact that we hated each other for years, at least we weren't fond of immigrants. Used to think they all carried knives. Anyway, Australia isn't the small island people think it is, and has bits of everything, from rainforests, to the red centre (great if your interested in Indigenous cultures), great beaches, the Great Barrier Reef. Can't actually tell you much about Italy, never having been there, but for me this question was a debate

It also depends on where you are travelling from and how long your trip is.
If its from Europe, then flying to and from Australia takes a fair chunk of time out of a short vacation.
