For the past 5 days, I've been stuffy & having large, bloody boogers in my nose. They're so big & so far up my nose that I have to dig far with my bare finger with a long fingernail. (Don’t mean to sound graphic) I can't breathe properly. My friend said she felt a swollen lymph node under my earlobe/behind my jaw. There's a swollen vein in my upper left nostril that's blocking my breathing, & I accidentally scrape the skin off my nose, trying to get the boogers out.
Also, is there a medical &/or proper term for the word "boogers"? It sounds quite like slang & informal.

boogers, better word--mucus... mucus clots with blood
I would get some saline spray and spray it into your nose as the directions indicate. This should help with the bleeding. If you start bleeding a lot and it's running out your nose and won't stop in a minute or 2, get to the ER---you broke a blood vessel and will bleed to death.
You probably have a sinus infection and you need the saline spray to moisturize your nose. I know salt and moisturizing don't sound like they go together, but in your nose they do, trust me, I've had sinus surgery and nose surgery for deviated septum and I know about sinus infections and irritations. Please use q-tips and not your fingernails in your nose. You could cause more bleeding or deposit dirt in your nose making your symptoms worse. Under the fingernails is the dirtiest part of the human body... If Q-tips are not long enough, you should get a nose spray system that cleans the nose ---they are pricey ( I don't mean like Afrin, I mean one you mix with water in a large bottle)...Or, you could try mixing 2 cups warm ( not hot) water with 1/2 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp baking soda and using an aspirator, spray this up your nostrils. Do this over a sink and try twice a day...this should clean out your nose and help heal irritation...I would see a doctor after the New Year to make sure you got better. This aspirator idea isn't particularly pleasant, so plan to rest afterwards with a clean towel handy as the water drains and drips out... I've had to use this aspirator idea after sinus surgery and it kept it clean and it healed properly... I hope this helps.

boogers are made from trapped particles that we breath in. I watched on you tube a doctor extract a booger so large it was bigger than my thumb. It was so far back he had to use forceps and tweezers. That is all I know. But recently I have had a lot more "boogers" and they are getting bigger. Not sure what this is about but I dont do drugs. Maybe sleep with a humidifier? Sometimes mine are blood clots but mostly just boogers and then the next day they are back even bigger.

try using a vaporizer when you sleep....dry air will dry out the nasal passages and they will bleed...and what you call boogers...are the blood clots....can you blow them out??? if this doesn't improve....ask a doctor.
