And what was the purpose? Why does the bible not mention them? It mentions stars but nothing of planets...

Nobody. They couldn't see planets then as there were no telescopes. They thought they were just stars.

Not "who". It's "what". And that would be the Universe itself, in all it's awesomeness. No ONE being created a planet. That's pretty much impossible.

Gee, it's almost like a pre-scientific society made up a story about 3500 years ago, without knowledge of the true structure of the solar system and the existence of other planets...

The stars are for light at night, as are planets.

God did.

The Bible never mentions Australia either. The Bible tells us how to be reconciled with God the Father, and how to live a life that is pleasing to God. That is all. It's not a science book.

God creates them. Its purpose is for men to learn about them and find out why Earth is the only living planet,etc

No one did, it began with a singularity which resulted in the so called big bang and it's all proceeding outwards as we speak and will continue do do so for some time 'till it all starts again (perhaps)
