my husband does not have any relatives with colored eyes. But i do have great relatives who did have colored eyes. Ive heard that in order to have colored eyed kids, both the parents should have colored eyed history in their families... what do you all think??

You make no mention of what color your eyes are or your husband's. That makes more of a difference.

not sure what you mean by no color. I assume it means that you have dark black eyes.

Both parents of a child would have to have a recessive gene to create a child with , as you put it, colored eyes. And it can come from many generations back. Black or dark brown eyes are dominate genetically. If one parents gene has a dark eye gene then even if the other parents gene is light, the child will have dark eyes, but while carrying a recessive gene, that child can produce a future child with color eyes.
