I am not trying to convert anyone so I don't care if they attempt to "make it difficult"

I do however wish they would start asking and answering intelligently, so they actual contribute something of value or shut up (same for the fundamentalists of all religions). A decent counter opinion.

"God does not exist", "Religion is lunacy". insults and all those taglines they use are not contributing anything and are just as stupid as "Jesus Saves", "sinners/nonbelievers are going to hell", and insults as an answer or question.

Also why do Atheists and Pagans seem to lump together. Pagans are theists/diests and it used to be monotheism (getting rid of the most gods) that was historically the closest to Atheism. Pagans used to call Monotheists atheists. Just a question.

Here in the United States of America, atheists have freedom of speech just as the theists do.

But of course the question asker already knew that, and asked this OBVIOUSLY LOADED question to get heated answers from the responders. It appears that both theists and atheists alike have fallen for the bait.

Wow, this would be like Costco asking Sams Club or Smart & Final to shut down the business so that they can make more money. This right here, fellow atheists, is just more proof that religion has made people terribly corrupt lol.

Because they are trying to convert others to their way of thinking just like the theist.

In a lot of ways theists and atheists are very much alike. Both feel they are right and the other is wrong. I find this thought very interesting.

Everyone is entitled to their belief of God (or non belief). As a God fearing woman, I do not judge others as I myself do not wish to be judged. I have talked to Atheists who are good human beings and live their lives according to the natural order of what is right and wrong.

If you are telling the truth, the converts will come. There is no need to overly persuade the non-believer.

I'm quite sure the atheists aren't deterring you from getting converts. We're all born with free will, so maybe your potential converts already have their own set of beliefs, just as you have your own set of beliefs. If your beliefs work for you, then cool, but they don't work for everyone.

And if you can't "shut up" then why should atheists "shut up". They're only doing the same thing you're doing...sharing their beliefs...er...non-belief...whatever.

If Theists need Atheists to 'shut up' in order to make it easier to convert others, then perhaps Theists have an even weaker argument for conversion then I could have ever imagined.

I don't really see how atheists are making anything difficult for christians or any religion for that matter to make converts. Once the stories are told to the individuals they are likely to ask questions and based upon answers given they can arrive to their own decision.

Frankly, you can't blame atheists for the bad results of the theists. It's not the atheists who make it difficult for the theists, it's the crappy theology.

There's such a thing as free speech.

If it's difficult for theists to "get new converts", I hardly think the problem lies with atheists who voice their opinions.
