In addition to laying across the bed, I was usually across mom/dad's knee with a paddle. That was the worst!

I always got spanked though clothes. Usually with a shoe if it was my mom or a hand if it was my dad. I don't think spanking is wrong as long as you talk to the kid and explain why they are getting a spanking. I got spanked a lot and I don't know half the stuff I did to deserve it...

It depended on who was doing the spanking, oane step mother used a plungerstick and we didn't dare move.We were too scared of her to say anything to any other family member. Then we had an aunt adopt us when we were teens and she didnt care what she used ,Ive seen her pick up a folding chair one time and hit my brother on the back side and she would dare you to move and she loved to just get mad and anything set her off,slap you up side the head and I can still feel those and she got mad one time ,she didnt think my closet was clean enough and grabbed a wire hanger and got me on my legs. My kids NEVER went threw that .

I got spanked with a belt as a kid - on my legs and butt with clothes on. I dont blame ppl who do this. I dont know what I think about it now. I never felt like I got a reason on why I was messing up afterwards.

My father always became carried away during the punishment and would end up hitting us across our backs and legs. If he were really angry, which he usually was when he was spanking us, he would hold us up by one arm and swing his cowboy leather belt with the metal rivets on the side at us. I have no doubt that he was aiming for our bottoms but he FREQUENTLY missed with us twisting around and crying. A few times he forgot to remove his large belt buckle while wipping us and usually broke skin with that sucker.
If you can find other, alternative methods of disciplining your child, PLEASE DO. You never know when your anger might get the better of you or when you might lose control.

For my lucky I didn't visit so often over mom's lap for a spanking, but when I went there my panties came down every time.

I was, across the pants. My dad did it (tougher hands, ouch) and he always made me wait in my room to "think about what I'd done" first. My husband had to grab his ankles and got whipped with a belt (EEK).

Only times I ever got spanked were over the clothes, and it was about three swats if that. My parents weren't big spankers, instead they were take away thing you like and enjoy people.
