I was hospitalized two days ago im Mexico they said i had a temperature of 40.3 grados. Im not quite sure what that means. I could not breathe sort of like asthma but i dont suffer from that. it ended up being something like an acute viral infection that cause my bronchus to close or something like that i was told. i was so sick i dont remember half of the stuff. i had high fever, according to doctors if i hadnt gone to the hospital i could of suffer some convulsions. so anyhow im better now just that i have fever still and i was wondering when i need to go to the hospital i sure dont want to have any convulsions

You need to take your temperature now. You should go to the doctor if your fever is over 104. You may have the flu. The fever is not going to hurt you. Adults don't get convulsions from fever like children do. Make sure you drink water, juice, soup. So you don't get dehydrated.

I'd say between 101 and 103F I'd be heading to the hospital...but if you have a viral infection, I'm not sure what they can really do. Medicines only treat bacteria, as far as I know...not viruses. But, I would go anyway with a temp that high...better safe than sorry. Anything much higher than that, and you literally run the risk of "cooking" your brain and internal organs. Sounds weird, but it's basically true. You can suffer brain damage and a wide range of other physical deteriorations if a high temperature isn't brought under control.

Young children can get to 102 , 103 and 104 late in the afternoon when they are sick. They spike in the afternoon and then come down over night.

But if an adult sees those high temps, you need to get to the Doctor or emergency room.

The point when I would be heading to the ER is 103 degrees, and if you are driving (you shouldnt be) you need an ice cold wash cloth, or towl over your head and body.

Don't drink the water in Mexico.
