For Zeitgeisters... I've seen it and professed it, but then I realized that I'm buying into more of others' interpretations of the past, present, and seemingly future events. You see, Zeitgeist might be a great documentary and all, but it still has its humanoid flaws (excluding spelling and accidental misinformation.) If it can't help capture the mind of the religious and spiritual, then it still has not surpassed the "power" of the Bible. Know what I mean?

Why humans invent religions and God or Gods to worship?

I think religions were created because the human mind wonders and day dreamt long ago.

They saw sufferring and wanted to do something about it.

Sufferring is like a bad harvest and many people starved to death. Or when it is cold people suffer.

They invent Gods to worship and to please these Gods so God will bring them peace. That was probably the major reasons why religions were invented.

The problem is most modern day humans think religions are created by God. That is the problem the world is facing today and all the terrorism and violent going on. Most of the conflicts going on like in Sudan and in many part of Africa and around the world. One group of believers killing another just because they have a different view of their God or Gods.

If the human mind can be more logical, maybe there is hope but as I can see nothing can be done about it because even our modern age society in the good old USA also believe in this God and all these superstitious stories of men invented silliness.

I have received more from reading for myself than attending any organized religion, also learned a few things here. Every time I show up in a church I get questioned about my life, I mean whats it matter? Haven't found a church yet that accepts my marriage. Shes thirteen years younger than I and we aren't planning on bringing any children into this world, it seems too weird or sin full to the masses. Maby they would preffer it if we had twelve and brought them all up to pay tithes, taxes, and become alter boy's. I don't see many of them inviting the homless in to worship, they dont understand that I would not be comfortable dressed like either. If my wifde was to dress like some Ive seen in church i would make her take off the heals and and the provacative see-thru slip and put on a pant suit or some jeans. Yea I got issues with a man that repeatedly scorns adultery and fornicasion and allows women to come dressed like that. Also, I wasn't hearing anything about prophesy or were we stand today, it doesn't draw a croud I guess. So you wanted to know, I could go on but I think you might get the point. I am thankfull for my wife, my ability to forgive, and for my conviction of faith, what do I need that they are offering? Oh ya I got caught up there didnt I, the prince of lies has been around since the begining, hence so many mystery religions that resemble Christ and the twelve, and the Zodiac is a part of that to. I mean come on if you were satan and you new Christ would come wouldnt you want a head start that might fool the masses.Tell a little truth with many lies, I think thats what the movie was doing. I do believe some of the stuff about the Gov. being courupted by the rich, and come on people isnt the stock market just legalized slavery? You asked!!!!!

I fervently wish people would keep it to themselves as a personal, spiritual journey instead of the public spectacle it has become. It would be far better for everyone if every social policy didn't need to be checked with this religion or that.

I honestly feel that religion greatly retards our chances at progress, particularly medical and scientific progress. How much more could we accomplish if our doctor's and scientists were not always fighting a vocal minority every step of the way?

Peace,
Jenn

The religion is a way to know God. So, I think that there is not ''the correct religion'' It's just a way to be a good person paying attention what God wats.
I'm catholic but I respect the everyone's religions because it's their way to follow the same God that I follow to.
Sorry for my english :D
Good Luck

I think that religion is garbage.

Not overly impressed with "Zeitgeist" either.

It is sometimes too organized..as long as you believe that Jesus died for our sins and live a life in his name you are ok..no matter what religion u are.
