The first part is 'GRADUATION DAY" when after weeks of running, P.T, marching, yelling, shouting, training classes, learning to love your rifle, working as a team, learning all the ways to kill your enemy without a weapon, crawling through the mud, spending hours on end doing everything over and over again, then you actually earn the title Marine.
The second part is earning the respect of others and knowing you are serving with the best and will always remain a Marine.
Semper Fi is not just a phrase, it's the truth!!!!
Unlike the Army who just hands you a uniform along with orders and sends you away.

The brotherhood. That's the best part. Wherever I go in the world, if there is a Marine, I have a brother.

Back when I joined one million years ago it was the camaraderie and sense of belonging to something as old and noble as the Corp.
Now the pot has been sweetened by the enlistment bonuses, which just makes it better.
I have not been active for years but I am still a Marine. That is also one of the good things, you are always a Marine.

On graduation day, no one will have to tell you.
That's the day your initation card will be stamped "paid" and you can call yourself "Marine."
