I am thinking of getting my first tattoo. Curious if it hurts a lot on your wrist and/or foot?
Also, I get keloids! Does anyone know if me getting a tattoo will cause me to get a keloid?

thanks

True keloids are very rare, some people confuse keloids with hypertrophic scarring. While keloiding can occur with tattooing it is also very rare. Most people do fine with it.

You would need to work with an experienced professional tattoo artist with a very light touch. I have seen novice tattoo artists deeply scar the skin from overworking it. I would not choose either the wrist or the foot for this as both areas get a lot a movement and if you would keloid, it would be there. It is also more painful there than other parts of the body like the back of the shoulder, for instance.

Well at first it wont hurt but after a while when your wrist or foot becomes numb is when the pain will set it; but it just feels like you are getting a lot of shots. With your wrist and feet I don't know how painful that would be but I was told from a friend that the foot is one of the more sensitive body parts so that may be quite painful. I'm not sure about the wrist but I want a tattoo there as well (tell me how that worked out for you). And th Keloids, I'm not sure if I'm getting that confused with another genetic predisposition but it's common in people with dark skin tones (black people). I have a tattoo on my shoulder which looks like a bruise because my keloid like symptoms made the tattoo raise and look like I was branded a tattoo.

don't know about the wrist or foot but I have a tattoo just above my breast and that hurt (a lot) and yes the possibility of getting a keloid on the tattoo site is possible as this is a skin puncture however the coloring may cover the keloid and it may not be that noticeable

Wrists, both inside and outside, are not that painful. I have heard feet are awful, but I have no experience with that.

As far as keloids, I am not sure. Maybe you could ask your doctor before you decide?

Wrist and feet tattoos hurt more than some. The more body fat you have in the area you're getting the tattoo- the less it will hurt.

I just got one on my wrist, but it wasn't my first so i knew what to except. I have a very high pain tolerance, but the wrist was a bit painful. Not to the point of crying or anything but definitely more painful than other areas of your body. Like the others posted, the less fat, the more pain.

you will deffinately be more prone to getting a keloid, but its not a gaurantee, and the foot i've heard is the worst...but i don't think the wrist is as bad :) hope that helps

my friend, i think you need to get yourself properly educated on tattoos. seems like you are not sounding too confident.

i have some free guides which may be helpful to you.

BTW, you will possibly get keloids when you remove the tattoos.

it hurts more on the wrist than on the foot, especially if you get it on the inside of ur wrist (i hav 7 tattoos, the one on my wrist was the smallest, nd most painful) but if u like the tattoo, then it's definantley worth it. i hav one on my ankle, but not on my foot, i dont reccomend it bcuz then u hav 2 b careful w/ wat kind of heels u wear, it looks bad w/ specific cuts.

It doesnt hurt a lot. Well it depends on how much pain you can handle. Some people say it hurts too much others say it doesnt bother them.
