Since I am a non-believer in Christianity, Christ and, all that encompasses your beliefs, I would assume by your standards that you believe I am going to this thing you call “hell” after I die. Even though I was raised with deep values and morals which rival that of the average human being- or Christian for that matter. Anyway, I expect that when I enter “hell” I will see all my family and friends, whom also are “non-believers”. I will also see great humans who once contributed wonderful ideas, thoughts, and intellects to our world. These people might be M.K Gandhi or the Dalai Lama. And depending on what you believe maybe even Martin Luther King JR. So lets recap…. My friends, family, and great world leaders will all be there? It kinda seems like this “hell” you describe…maybe my own heaven?

Thank you everyone for your answers so far. I apperciate the hearty debate. But I do find it disturbing that Christians (who say they belong to such a “loving” and “caring” religion) can tell another person straight in the face- that they are going to hell. In no other widely practiced religion in this world do you find such hateful and violent speech.

Also, does that mean my dog is going to hell too? Cause he can't pray for salvation ...... he is a dog.

In my original question I said that I was raised with morals “that rivals that of other humans”. I realize that sounds pretentious. Louis R pointed that out to me. That statement was really supposed to be a complement to my parents- meaning I believed they raised me with wonderful morals- it was kinda a cheeky ode to them- sorry it came out wrong!

If you believe in the type of man made hell that religious leaders have hyped up over the centuries, then I guess it's easy to believe that most people will go to this type of hell. The question really is, did you ever read the Bible for yourself to see what "hell" truly is?
The word, "hell" is not found in the Bible. Hell, comes from an old Germanic word, "Heolle," which means, the common grave of mankind. If you read the Bible, you'll learn that when one dies, one ceases to exist. No more memories, nor feelings. You're only hope is in the resurrection sometime in the future. The Bible also mentions that death is the penalty for our sins. So, there will be no more suffering in some venomous, vapor dripping void, like some people like to teach.
Of course, in order to scare people into religions, some preachers teach hellfire and torment to maintain a healthy population in their churches.

It may seem funny to you now, but I have a different concept based on what i have learned. Each of us has a spiritual signature or energy field. This field you can call a spirit and soul. The soul is your history brought forth. When you come here and learn from errors, it will increase your field, if you do wrong stuff like kill someone, evil stuff, then you take on negative energy. Now Jesus said that God has many mansions in his kingdom. I see the word Dimensions. So what if non- believers go to nowhere. Nothingness. I have been there in a meditation and I surely would not want to go there, let alone some place your mind makes up perhaps with eternal fire and mental torment. I would much rather seek the light of God than the dimension of outer darkness,. all alone!
Your Free will choice, keep laughing!

Well I'm christian (mormon) and I don't belive in hell
I believe that people who die will go to one of three kingdoms after this life, all of which are better than this life
They are compared to the brightness of the sun, the moon, and the stars.
The top one you have to believe in Christ
The other two, well I can't say for sure as we have no church doctorine on it but I imagine you'd be in the middle if you lived a good life
Dabuck: ?
How can you say that there are 3 kingdoms if your church has no doctrine on it??? There is only 1 kingdom and it's the Kingdom of God. God created the sun, the moon, and the stars it's not a religion of astrology. Also how can you say there is no Hell???? Clearly in the Bible it states that Hell I s a place of eternal punishment and sorrow.

Wow, you are so right! Wow! You are so intellegent! Funny thing... real christians, not these "Left-Behinders", know that if you live in moral accord with anything of a "higher" nature; Like Buddah, Shiah, Hindu, Judaism, Kaballah, or any of the other religious beliefs which emphasize MORAL decency, anyone will be evenly handled regardless of faith base. These moronic "left-behinders" have their heads up the behinders. They use that as a selling point to raise the height of their church's steeple. Now about you... if you have these supreme morals that rival with other human beings, you wouldn't be starting arguements and certainly not brag about yourself now would you? Instead you would simply rest knowing that arrogance is not preventable from certain closed-minded people, like these maniacal Baptists and their "left-behinders". Arrogance, Ignorance, and Narrow-mindedness are all downfalls of simple people and these will always exist so why engage them? If you are so advanced morally I will have wasted my time here.

When you stand before God, your attitude will change fast. The Holy Bible says, it doesn't matter how good a person is, or how many good deeds they have done, if one doesn't believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and repent of our sins, then hell bound they are. If you do go to hell, you won't be thinking about all the great things Martin Luther or any body did. You will be in the worse pain and torment that you have never experienced or imagined.

Unfortunately Hell does exist. However please note Hell was created not because God wants to sent people to Hell. No it was for the Satan and his followers. Jesus has already made the provision for all to inherit heaven. the price have been paid , we just need to believe what He did on the Cross, admit we are all sinners and we need Him and believe in Him and His finish work on the cross. it's as simple as that.we cannot earn salvation. it is a free gift from God.
To another question regarding animal . they are different because they do not have a soul like human do. the soul is what separate Human from the animal kingdom
The soul is what will make it to heaven or hell, when a person dies.

To: Vherndette Very TRUE.. I agree with you..
and now to you atheist. The very reason you exist begs the question "how".
You do not understand reasonable truth. You can not understand because you have not tested and tried. You only mock.
I say to you--1. God does not send people to hell, they send themselves there.
2. God is JUST therefore, ALLOWING such a place does not contradict his nature for it would NOT be loving to allow such punishment. You have the way to salvation--i tell you its Jesus.
You know the way--yet you do not act--you stand with out excuse..
thanks,
John

Let's see, if I can make this understandable for you. God is good, Hell is bad. God blesses us with good things, like friends, family, joy, peace, good health, etc. Hell is just the opposite , in Hell you will suffer, trouble, enemies, unhappiness and discontent, terror and pain and all the things that are opposite of good. The trouble with non-believers going to hell is that many are "basically good", but not good enough to make their way into heaven. Scripture tells us NO ONE can be that good! That is why you have to believe in and ACCEPT the Savior to get you there. That is why HE is called the Savior, he saves us from the punishment of our sin by taking that punishment on His self. "Without the shedding of blood there can be no redemption" I pray this helps you find the truth you are obviously looking for.

To be honest, if I ended up in hell, I imagine there are people out there who I've hurt that would say I got what I deserved. I can't point to anything in my life that would say I DESERVED to go to heaven. Even for someone as dedicated as Ghandi, he treated his wife and daughter very poorly. Who's to say, "Mistreating your wife and daughter are OK give him a pass?" Who's setting the standard for who's in or out? If someone says, gossip isn't so bad. What is the person who was horribly hurt by the rumors to say? "Yah, it was no big deal?" Says who?
Would a loving god say, "Well, yah, what you said caused that girl to cry for a week, but no big deal, you're in. Besides, you gave $3000 to the Red Cross, that should about cover it."
I find putting myself in god''s place in this who goes to heaven or hell thing way out of my league. For myself the best I can do is admit that I'm a beggar before god. There are a lot of people out there that would have a complaint against me getting in. All I can do is plead for mercy and hope that if anyone complains god might say "If I forgave you, you can have no complaint against him either."
A good follow up question would be, "Why should god forgive anyone?"

Definition of Hell: Sheol and Hades in Greek and Hebrew language means: pit or hole in the ground for a place of burial after you die. Hell is the common grave of mankind. The bible says you know nothing when you die until God resurrects you. The bible does not refer to Hell as a fiery place of torment for mankind.
