I think it's a great deal, but I just want to get your opinion.

Here's the ebay link:

I HAVE done business with this seller before. She is very honest and up front about everything. She has a 14 day refund policy, also.

1/5 carat is not that small...for rich snobs maybe but for a normal person it's not.

First of all, I think it's stupid to think of it 'too small'. It's a friggin' symbol of commitment people! I dislike big diamonds anyway (I'm not a huge fan of diamonds to begin with...). It's pretty gaudy and shows money is so easily thrown away on such things.

Now, personally, I don't like the solitaire style, but of course most women do. This one doesn't look too bad really, it has this nice charm about it, especially how the band pinches in to the diamond. I think it's got that simple elegance to it.

I'm glad you're not wasting a fortune on a ring, when that money can be used to start your life together. I don't know how much diamonds cost, and I don't understand the whole 3 C's deal, but I think it's a decent deal.

It's very pretty. I've had my eye on that ring for awhile. I saw one just like it at Zales for $300!

To those who are criticizing her choice to have a small diamond: shame on you! If she wants a small diamond, let her have it. My ring is only 1/6 carat for the center stone and has small diamond flecks on the band. The total carat weight is around 1/5, maybe slightly larger. I don't see any problem with that. I'm only going to be wearing my engagement ring for about 6 months anyways so I don't care what other people think about it.

I'm not a rich snob by any means and even I have to agree a 1/5 carat diamond is small. No way would I pay $150 for a rock that small.

I find it funny you deem people rich snobs for considering it small. I have a 1/2 carat and my husband and I aren't rich by any means.

SI means slight inclusions. The colour is also G (D is pure white).

Older stones (ie those from before 1950) are unlikely to have been laser treated; most diamonds nowadays are; the laser treatment diminishes the integrity of the stone, and makes it more likely to shatter--particularly in jewelry cleaners. Hence, older cut stones are more valuable--even with inclusions and less purity in colour (as well as better for the environment, but that's another topic).

You may be able to get a larger stone and setting for less money elsewhere, but if you like this seller and the ring, definitely go for it!

You are going to (hopefully) wear this ring the rest of your life. Either get a really nice band for that amount of money or spring for a bigger stone- at least 25 pts..
I settled for a small stone and we decided twe would upgrade the ring after 10 years of marriage. 10 years and 4 kids later, we were not even sure if we could afford to go to dinner on our anniversary. It always hurt my feelings a little that my husband skimped on the ring. It is a symbol of his love for you. Are you sure you want a teeny weeny one?
I really admire your lack of greed and selflessness. As a woman who has been married 30 years, I am telling you- your man needs to save his money a bit longer and get you a decent ring. If he doesn't -your friends will all feel sorry for you.
Sam's Club and Costco carry nice jewelry at decent prices. Even Wal-Mart has Keepsake diamonds in settings that are pretty good and still economical. Option 2- a nice band is better than a too small diamond.
Cherish your love and good luck!

I think the ring looks lovely and with the valuation certificate it should be fine for getting it insured. The real question though is whether you think your girlfriend will love it. If you think she will, no harm in getting a good deal. If you don't think she will then don't buy it just because of the price and keep looking as it is something she will wear and treasure forever. Good luck

No with diamonds you always want to go thru a place where you can get insurance. So the diamond can get replaced if lost, re-sized or the prongs checked for free. So id be careful of buying "nice" jewlery on the web.

its a toe ring or a ring for a baby? if you pay more than 70.00 its too much

edited: I have a toe ring in yellow gold just like it. I paid 70.00 at walmart for it... (it's actually a baby's ring) dear.... it's a 'tiny' ring. you should really look at all the pictures offered. (not talking about the diamond..which by the way is also tiny but pretty)
notice it doesnt fit past the first knuckle in one of the pictures...and it's tiny in the normal size ring box. it's a 'baby' ring or 'toe' ring. Unless you've got itty bitty fingers like a baby...i doubt if it's an engagement ring.

I think that if its what you want and like then it doesnt matter what anyone else says...I do in fact like it..as far as the "size" the ring that i have picked out is 1/8 and I think it is the prettiest and looks like no other ring i have seen! Go with what YOUR HEART WANTS!
