I had a cheap Memorex mp3 player which I synced purchsed songs as well as ripped from CD songs to it using Windows Media player. When I connected mp3 player to computer, Windows Media player recognized it and listed as a device to sync to. Everything went smooth.

I get an Ipod nano, plug in in a USB port, and it does not even appear as a device on Windows media player, so I can't sync all those songs already on my playlist in Windows media player. I cna go back and purchase everything through iTunes again but I don't want to do that. I want to use Windows media player and the songs on that playlist to get to sync to my new iPod. Anyone else experience this? Is an ipod not capable of sharing or syncing with windoos or visa versa? Any help is appreciated.

First download itunes from apple.com. It is free.
Then open itunes.
Go to File -> Add Folder to My library

Follow the instructions to add to your Library your existing music
(say C:\My documents\My music)

itunes will add all your music to your itunes library

Now connect your ipod, itunes will recognize it.

With your ipod connected, drag and drop your music from your Library to the ipod.

You are done.

Your Ipod requires a different format. I believe the format is AAC or something like that, and windows media player is MP3. Thats why you can't sync your Ipod in WMP. Just stick to Itunes.
Hope I helped =]

i attempted each thing to get my ipod to sync to living house windows yet no longer something worked. and that i later found out u can in basic terms sync to itunes. attempt copying all your song onto your ipod (interior the folders, yet u won't have the potential to play it) and taking it to a pals living house, then upload it 2 his itunes and sync.

Ipod is made by apple so it uses Itunes
download I tunes and then drag and drop your files into the itunes library

if you cant transfer your songs... save them to a CD and then burn them to the CD... then drag the songs from your CD to your desktop then into the Itunes library and then click sync to ipod
