If you're throwing a right hand spinning backfist, step forward with your left and pivot on that foot, then spin your whole waist clockwise and let your right arm swing around like a whip. You'd probably be better off throwing a spinning back thrust kick along with this technique though, so that when he blocks or dodges it(which is usually the case) at least the other guy won't expect a right thrust kick to the groin or gut after blocking or avoiding your backfist : P

If you are losing your balance try putting your foot over more towards the direction you are spinning as you push it forward and behind the lead foot as you turn. This will give you a wider stance as you spin out of it and also allow you to followup with a strong reverse punch as well after the back-fist.

to hit with your right hand from orthodox stance just step to the right with your left foot so that your legs cross with your left leg in front. Put your weight on your right foot. Turn your entire body, starting with the hips and balancing on the balls of your feet , clockwise and swing your fist at your target, turning your head quickly to see your target before hitting. Keep your left arm guarding your head so you don't get your noggin bashed. Some people need to bend their legs more or rotate a bit before fully crossing their legs in order to end in a stable position. Your feet MUST be in a solid position before contact is made.

dont do it, simple !
it wouldn't be affective plus why would you want to turn your back on your attacker ?
