Fender Blues Junior.
Affordable, sounds great clean or dirty, and WILL cut a small club gig.

I have a Vox Valvetronix 30 watt combo for practice. It is a modeling amp with built in effects. It's got a great sound and models everything from Fender Bassman amps to Marshall.I'd suggest something like this.Line 6 also makes a good modeling amp that would be plenty versatile enough for what you want to do.As far as effects I'd buy something on the order of a Line6 POD or a Digi-Tech pedal.I have the Digi-Tech Jimi Hendrix pedal and it is awesome. They make other pedals which model several different effects pedals.I'd go this route instead of buying a handful of different effects pedals.Good Luck with your choices

Fender Blues Jr., or even the Fender Pro Jr. The Pro Jr. is totally basic - the Blues Jr. has more controls. The Limited Edition ones in tweed that you can get from Guitar Center have an alnico speaker and a lacquered tweed covering and they sound great, but they cost a little more. Any good quality amp should sound good with your Tele, but "Fender with Fender" does make a lot of sense in regards to tone - they are "made for each other".

Fender Tweed Champ, Harvard or Vibrolux circa late 50s. They will crunch your tele twang. You'll pay big $ for them though. I recently heard this tiny brand new Dan Electro Honeytone on the web which has a very smooth distortion as well.

I'd recommend the Fender Champion 600.....All valve, 5 watts (but sounds much louder) of pure tone, looks great, well made, and silly cheap!
I gig with one, and its amazing!
