I'm like most of you, they have to be very violent AND making threats for me to report them. I've reported very few times myself. I'll report pedophiles that are trying to find victims, but if they are asking for help I will do my best to help them find the courage to seek professional help.

I don't like censorship either, and I am not the Yahoo Police, seems like some think it their task to "police" the area.

Hmmm......

I've probably reported 8 people ever. They have only been over really racist kinds of questions. One was because it was about child molestation and really inappropriate.

I've reported a few people for having extreme racist comments or questions and even a few sexual ones that are way over the line. I think it's important to ask and seek advice for all kinds of topics, but when hate speech is involved that's just wrong.

Obscene language (and not just f**k)

racist rants

minors wanting contact or putting their emails out there

threats

obvious case of spam - like asking for emails about a new stock deal in a religious question

I've been tempted to report Cut N Paste jerks but refrain

Only twice, I believe. And they were for things that I thought were truly vulgar or written with the soul attention to offend.

I think there is nothing wrong with arguing here, or asking 'baiting' questions. That sort of behavior is perfectly acceptable. In fact, it does a lot to make people think and to inspire dialog and debate.

But things only intended to harm, or to insult, or to abuse, or just to get a rise out of people, or to be downright vulgar are inappropriate.

But then, even some of these things I described in the previous paragraph are subjective.

So I hope to only rarely use the report feature here.

Did you spot that one above ...

"I think 5. In each case I thought the question was blasphemous. Insulting to the Almighty".

My goodness. He JUDGED! Any opinion not in line with what his opinion is is destroyed? That's what Muslim extremists do.
Getting it straight - since there is NO almighty entity, there is also no such thing as blasphemy.

Oh - the question. Once, I think. Can't remember why. Probably insulting the almighty? NO! Just made that up!

I've used the report button only a very few times. A couple of times for pornographic avatars and a couple of times for blatant bigotry.

Only a few times for explicit language. I will not report some one for a different view.

Hundreds of times:

Pornographic avatar
Obscene language beyond a word or two
Threats of violence
Flagrant direct insults to individuals
Flagrant hate speech
Outright spam

i've never reported anyone. I'm not THAT much of a loser to report someone whose beliefs are different from mine. To each his own.

*Yes. Even the extremists that said that all atheists should die and go to hell.

About thirty times. For being very mean or disrespectful, not asking a question. I've reported Christians, Muslims, atheists, etc. I don't report people merely if they believe differently than I do, I only report when they seem to be asking for it.
