First, keep your Canon.

Second, check out the review of the Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DC OS (Optical Stabilization) lens in the Dec. 2007 issue of Shutterbug Magazine. You can read it on-line at shutterbug.com.

Enjoy!

Sigma makes a lens that might fit the bill. No its not a Canon lens but hey, it fits a Canon.

So often I hear "its not the camera, its the photographer that makes the difference". So why all the venom against Canon?

if you only want one lens and money is not an issue, sell your Canon, buy a Nikon and buy the 18-200 VR lens.

Canon doesnt have a "do all" lens, and quite frankly, a "do all" lens defaeats the purpose of an SLR.

The standard 18mmX55mm is okay. I also have a 75mmX300mm and those 2 lenses do everything I need with a Digital Rebel.

Listen to what e60.deluxe says! Thats what my answer would have been. If money is not an issue that a Canon should not be your camera brand of choice... Nikon should be! Its the best...

Good Luck, Happy Holidays!!
