Yes, no and maybe. If a neighbor calls, the police will come. Also a Domestic Incident Report will be completed and depending on what the officer sees, hears, and interprets on the way to the door, other actions may or may not be appropriate.

If they neighbors call, probably. That could be disorderly conduct, or disturbing the peace.
If one of the parents call, probably not... if the argument was just verbal. However, the officer may suggest one of the parents leave for the evening and cool down. If the police were called a second time, an arrest would probably be made at that time.

Yes, will it stick in court? Probably not. I don't know what state you're in but Florida has draconian domestic violence laws and police take full advantage of them. Most domestic "violence" arrests are stemmed from a non-violent incident where the cop just doesn't feel like standing there refereeing a shouting match so they just take one of the people to jail and let the courts sort it out.

It depends on the state in which it occurs. And may depend upon whether the argument becomes physical, or if it happens in the presence of a child.
Without evidence of a blow being struck, or without the presence of a child, you are probably looking at a "disturbing the peace" offense which may require a neighbor to sign a complaint before it goes any further.

depends on the severity of the words and actions being used from what the officer who responds sees and understands from both sides of the argument. If one of them calls the cops..believe me..it all depends on threats, physical harm, etc. Lets say I am the woman, I punch my husband then call the cops and say he's threatening me...I definatly could get arrested and also he can as well.

I would say it is all up to circumstance and the mood of the officer. If it is just a shouting match and one parent called the police just to prove who is bigger and badder, I think the police will see through it. If, on the other hand, threats are made then the officer has the discretion to push the issue or try to defuse it.

Nowadays you can be arrested for just about anything! The definition of violence or abuse is very broad. They might as well just go ahead and arrest everybody

It depends on how heated - if any threats of violence were made - or if it got physical. Even if there are no arrests, you will be looked upon as a possible domestic violence household. That's not good.
