Maybe-maybe not. The condition of your body IS NOT ALWAYS indicative of the condition of your soul. When I first got saved I was a young man, living on my own.
I would come home from work, take a shower, pop a beer, and sit down to read my Bible. I would get "into my Bible" and let the beer get warm and dump it down the sink.
I probably threw away 3 cases before I quit buying beer. God didn't "transform" me in a moment; he had to "slow cook" me for awhile. Of course, I'm still on this earth, so He's not done with me yet.
And, aside from our current president, there are possibly HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of men who have or ARE CURRENTLY struggling with this-Ever heard of Alcoholics Anonymous?
In His Service,
John the Baptist

The Bible does not describe drunkenness as a “greater” sin than any other. All sin is offensive to God.Drunkenness is just one of the many things listed in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 that will keep a person from the kingdom of God. According to the Bible, God’s forgiveness is just as available to a drunk as it is to an adulterer, idol worshipper, murderer, thief, etc. God also promises the strength for victory over sin, including drunkenness, to all those who will believe in Jesus Christ for their salvation (1 Corinthians 6:11; 2 Corinthians 5:17).

Yes. But a sinner who will go to confession and told to say, "Hail Mary." a few times by a drunk priest.
Actually some of the greatest thoughts of all time have come from drunken, serious conversations. Too bad that in the morning they couldn't remember the conversation!

Jesus was a wine god and a lot of his story was influenced by the stories of Dionysus.
Both were born of a mortal woman and the "king of heaven".
Both died and were resurrected.
Both of their "bodies" were later "consumed".
The idea of salvation was associated with the followers of both.
Both magically produced wine or vines and wine is sacred to both their cults.
The Christian Father Justin Martyr, writing in the 100s AD, wrote that the Devil reading the Old Testament prophesies of the Messiah sent Bacchus early, to trick men about Jesus.
So where in the Bible does it say that drinking is bad?

NO.
A true born again Christian wont even drink any form of alcohol, as God tells us how it pretends to be your friend, but in reality it destroys you. Even science knows the effects of alcohol.
And we know our bodies are a temple of God, and noone that loves God will do anything to destroy their temple. The only reason God will allow the use of alcohol is for medical purposes. But, ppl can claim that , just to justify their use of it. I am not their judge, but God is. God oks small drink for someone tht is dying or in horrific pain, it is for that use only, and not to ever get drunk...... This is Biblical.
I could go on, but that says the jist of it
Thanks for another great question. God bless you.

We are to avoid even the appearance of evil. How could we obtain the alcohol in the first place? We are not to even keep company with a drunkard.
1Cr 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

No, because alcoholic drinks causes a person to cloud and to lose his sound judgment, intelligence and sanity, also causing the person to unable and to fail to perform his Christian duties.

Oh yes. We all have issues, and he didn't die for the righteous to be saved, but for the unrighteous. That's why I love him so much. Jesus loved the unlovable, the untouchable, the worst of the worst. If we could be "good" ourselves we wouldn't have needed a savior. God Bless.

drunkards will not inherit the Kingdom of the Heavens
An occasional drink is not bad..Paul told us to take a little wine for our stomachs sake
wine lowers cholesterol also.
it's an antioxidant
the dark colors fight cancer...Jesus drank wine at a wedding feast
but drunkenness is forbidden and in bible days they were stoned to death.

You can be--you just still have a lot of redemption necessary to work out your salvation in fear and trembling as Paul tells us to do.
Becoming a Christian is just the beginning of the redemption of your person.
