How about other gods? Doesn't that rank higher than a computer?
I cannot justify worshiping the Christian deity at all. Too much senseless violence, injustice and pettiness from the deity. Killing thousands because David sinned (they didn't sin, he did - zap his a**!), the book of Revelation reading like an LSD trip, allowing Abram to pimp out his wife and rewarding him for it. Letting Paul spread hatred instead of "love."
The list goes on. That's why I give honor to my ancestral deities and religion.

Some of us do not consider things like baseball and television to be Idols. That is your line of thinking. I have no problem with you if you wish to worship any God that you please. Unfortunately many of the religious persuasion do not feel this way and wish to impose their version of reality on others.

That is the natural state of Man--to worship Idols.
It is against the sinful nature to bend the knee to one God.

My idol is not God, but rather the Golden Rule, the foundation on which all religions and humanities credo is formed.
The rest is unproven and is nothing more then folklore, supposition and a few verified historical facts.

Idols don't talk back, don't have standards, don't require anything of the "worshipper" where as Yahweh has exacting standards, gets in your face and requires faithful obedience.

Huh? So you don't use computers, don't watch TV, or play sports? Do you live in a cave? And slavery?? Isn't that what you "true god" promoted?
And who told you people don't dislike addiction? Just because people don't believe in your fairytale, doesn't make them criminals! Get your mind straight!

I think it's because with other idols, you can choose one that suits you. With God, you need to follow strict guidelines.

It's called "fear of man" not wanting to be different....even to the point of dying to be included. Sad, isn't it?
