doesn't this mean they have a choice? And if so, shouldn't they be OK with choosing to express themselves sexually with a member of the opposite sex in a marriage covenant? Why or why not?

Born again atheist...if you became a born again christian and this dual desire persisted, could you "choose" to honor God by marrying one man for life? Would you respect others for making this choice as a spiritual choice? I have had desires for other women besides my wife but I have been faithful for 23 years...am I a fool for this choice?

Blessed3...thanks for being real and for having the intuition, wisdom, and spiritual discernment to understand the premise of my challenge. I am plum embarrassed by some of the Christian responses to questions worded like this one.

I would agree with that. Just as with heterosexual people, in order to be married we have to decide to stay with one person, right? Even if there are others we are attracted to, we don't leave our spouse and cheat on them (at least, we aren't supposed to). So a bisexual person could hook up with someone of the opposite sex, get married and stay together happily.
Its worked great for me, but not until after I became willing to turn my back on my sin even if it meant celibacy. That is when God changed my desires and led me to the one I love.

A person can have sinful desires and still be Christian. If that were not so, none of us would qualify.
HOWEVER, a person who refuses to repent and turn from his sin, but insists upon indulging desires that God has forbidden, cannot still be a Christian.
A person can have the most vile of sinful desires imaginable...they can yearn for the sexual companionship of little boys, for instance, and they can still be Christian. However, they must repent of this sin, and they must turn from it, they must never act on these desires...and with God's help they can work past them and perhaps even enjoy healthy sex with a grown spouse.
So, no...a Christian doesn't "have a choice". To be a Christian means to turn one's life over to God. God has said that homosexuality is an abomination. Because the Christian loves his Lord and his God, he will want to live his life in a way that is pleasing to Him. Knowing that acting on homosexual desires is not pleasing to the Lord, a Christian will not want to grieve Him by defying His command, and he knows that with God's help, he can work past those desires, and perhaps one day, he will be able to enjoy a healthy sexual relationship with a spouse.
It really is that simple.

Christian means Christ like, they only why to God is through Jesus Christ, asking Jesus to save you and forgive you of your sins. Sin means not following Gods way, Now being with the same sex is sin and God made it very clear. Now I would check my salvation if I was you. Because no where in the bible is says this is right. Now I used to
struggle with my sexuality before I was saved. After I became a true Christian I no longer had this problem. Now at times crazy thought can come to you but you don't act on them and you ask God to renew your mind because this world can take a toll on us. Being Bisexual is so common now its hard to get away from it. Be it also says in the bible that many will claim the name of Jesus and to be a follower. So not everyone that says they are Christian are. God is holy he is love. I know this because I have him do you

Your question is somewhat confusing to me, but I'll try:
First of all, many people claim many things. Christianity is one of the biggest claims of people (esp. in America). Unfortunately, a claim doesn't make it so. A Christian or one who claims to be should be challenged as to what they believe, or define their beliefs.
Most Christians I know claim that Heterosexuality is the ONLY acceptable standard for a Christian.
You are very wise in saying that bisexuality is a choice, which entails choosing not just one sex, but both to share intimately with sexually. This contradicts Christianity, which for all practical purposes calls for monogomous relationships.
Biblically speaking, marriage is a covenant relationship between three: One Male, One Female & God!
I hope this helps.

Well, if they were in love with a member of the opposite sex enough to want to marry them, I suppose. I don''t think it means they have a choice per se. But not if they found their soul mate to be a member of the same sex.
Good question. Bisexuals so often get forgotten in the gay vs. straight debates.

Does "Christian" mean a follower of Messiah? If so, they will follow. If they choose things that are abominations, then they are not following. Or do they just mean that they are attracted to and love members of the same sex? That we are commanded to,,(while we are commanded not to express that "love" sexually.

I don't think that someone who is truly born again will be bisexual, at least not for long. When a person is saved, they are delivered from sins like that which have such a hold on their lives. Bisexuality is a grave sin.

Well, I can say what it says in Romans. The Bible says it is immoral to like someone of the same sex. I guess I will be called a "fundy" now. However, if you believe the Bible, you would believe that it is immoral. There seems to be no way to get around that.

They can have a choice but that doesn't mean they're not not attracted to the same sex and they might still fall in love with someone who is the same sex as them. So God would have to banish them to roast in hell. Boo hoo.
