Ok, I've been having dreams(Sometimes day-dreams when I'm not even sleeping) ever since I was a child of a Gray waving X on a door. And it only happens on doors though, and when it happens, I can't speak. I try to speak, even scream, yet nothing comes out. POSSIBLY a gasp of air, but that's it. And I was recently talking to my friend today and she said she had the same thing happen multiple times, except for hers was red. Could there be any meaning behind this? We've both had a VERY rough childhood, so that might have something to do with it, but I'm not sure. A message back would be appreciated.

X marks the spot - - - a choice is being offered to you yet you feel that you must speak to claim it - -- -- thus you are being denied and that somehow terrifies you. Gray is somehow your color whereas your friend sees red. It is possible you associate Gray with Death and along that vein perhaps as a child even as young as toddler someone special died and that door now blocks you from joining that person and keeps you from voicing your grief & longing.

Im pretty sure incapacity in dreams is normal, I know I get it a lot and I also dream most night that I can fly. I often lose the ability to run or scream in dreams but it doesnt last long and I've heard loads of other people say the same, I don't think it's weird at all.

I wouldn't get yourself worried about it and to be honest if she actually does see the red cross then I would still go with coincidence over anything supernatural or spooky, but I really think that the cross might be an exaggeration on her part, unless you planted the idea in her head ages ago?

The door represents an opportunity for escape or entering another place in your life, the X shows your inability to use the door, that option is closed to you. This would naturally lead to feelings of impotence and an inability to voice objections or fears concerning this closed option.
I question the validity of your friends claim to have had the same dream. It is POSSIBLE, but hardly likely.
