In order to lose weight and to keep it off you have to combine cardio, weight-training, and a healthy diet. I'm sure the biggest loser workout will work for you and that you will definitely lose weight. The gym would also work. You have to pick the one that you will actually stick with. That is the important part. If the gym is easy to get to (mine is across the street) then do that, but if you are reluctant and can often find reasons to not go to the gym, the do the biggest loser. Just stick to one and be honest with yourself!

The running is the high intensity workout. But not all peopel can run. Those who are overweight can actually be encouraged to do other cardio since the stress on your joints (particularly the knees) is too much. You want to do the cardio and the weights to burn calories and build muscle, which burns more calories and burns them more efficiently.
Just keep it up. Make dietary changes to eat healthier and vary your workouts to find what you like and stick with it.

Annie.
If you can keep up the pace, you WILL lose weight. The key to ALL weight loss is this:
burn more calories than you consume
it's that simple.
Adding a workout may help accelerate the process but you MAY be surprised to see that your weight loss isn't as fantastic as you hope for at first because muscle weighs more than fat, so it all depends on your BMI (body mass index).
Don't give up, keep up the hard work, CHANGE YOUR EATING HABITS and you will be successful.
Find a workout partner if possible. It's harder to flake out on a workout if someone is waiting for you.....

This sounds like an excellent workout! Question, though: is the TOTAL work out 20 minutes? Or just the high intensity workout? I think that the TOTAL thing should be more like 45-60 minutes, but maybe it is!

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!

The most important parts to burning fat are gaining muscle and increasing your anaerobic threshold. Muscle speeds up your metabolism and your anaerobic threshold is simply doing cardio like walking (not running), swimming, jump rope, and things of that nature. This is good for FAT BURN specifically because these low intensity workouts at a long period of time use your fat cells as energy.
For example 30-45 min. walking is ideal for fat loss.

well i know in order to burn fat you must have a long workout, you could sprint for 20 min and wouldnt burn fat, but a jog for about 45 to an hour would burn fat, so i would just eat healthy and do long runs. long is the key not fast or tons of weight but long distance and slowly increase you jogging speed.

I don't see a thing wrong with your new work out, give it a try for a few weeks and see how things go. Give it a few weeks and don't give up before you have started, you can always go to the gym in a few weeks if you don't see any change.
