Call the IRS and get the application package. It's a very long and complicated form.

You personally will NEVER qualify as a 501(c)3 organization.

You could found a charitable organization of course but that is a long and tortuous road to travel. Consult with an attorney who specializes in this type of work, it's NOT something that you can undertake by yourself.

The process starts with organizing the charity under state law and securing non-profit status from the state. Only then can you start the process with the IRS to become a 501(c)3 organization and start collecting deductible contributions from the general public.

Keep in mind that any business activities outside of the organization's charter WILL be subject to taxation, as will any money that the organization pays you as its employee.

That is non-profit classification. Go online to IRS.gov, should be application there.
