You might want to CALL a doctor instead of visiting one. Ask her/him whats going on with your friend. If she hasn't been sleeping for 3 days, eventually she'll get tired and fall asleep.

This should not be treated lightly. I had the same problem just over a year and a half ago. It got to the point where I did not sleep for a week and a half. The panic attacks came more frequently, and more severely. Then the hallucinations came, then the voices, and now I am a full-blown paranoid schizophrenic. I'm not saying your friend is crazy, or will be. But don't let it get out of hand. TRY TO GET HER TO A DOCTOR.

She has anxiety... or she is a drug addict. The best way to relieve this problem is make her get up by 6am everyday and make her work her butt off and then not let her sleep until 12am. Do this for a couple weeks and she will fall into step. Make sure she is getting plenty of exercise and eats healthy. People who are bi-polar need vitamin B and lots of exercise and a regular sleep schedule.

there should be clinics that are free or low cost that
can help her.her problem could be hereitary on the dads
side of the family. the only way for you to know what is
going on is to seek the advice of a professional who
has expertise in this field.
i have seen in some newspapers there are trial medication free of charge for sleep disorders.

If your friend is in school I would suggest she talk to a counselor right away. There are also a lot of free clinics who can find a counselor for herl
Anxiety is a tough illness to overcome. But it can be done. Not sleeping can contribute to it.

I'm no doctor but do I know that if you take a sleeping pill with some other medicine (my sis did this with tetrocyoline) then the sleeping aid can have reverse affects and it can keep you from sleeping

she probably has alot on her mind. shes stressed. i cant sleep when im stressed. she may have a disorder or something other, but she should just try getting away from everything for a few days to clear her mind..if that doesnt work then do as much research on the internet as possible to see if it is something more serious.
im not a doctor..these are just things that seem logical to me.

She should really be speaking about this with her mother and father and telling them the effects on which the environment around her is influencing her mood changes. Counseling for all might be a good suggestion.

Sounds like your friend is severely depressed. If her mom doesn't notice, maybe you need to confront her and tell her what is going on. Her dad needs to know as well.
