Hi. Do they belong to the 901 Series speakers,if so you will need a Bose Equaliser as well as an Amplifier.

EDIT....Thanks for the info. Each pair of 901 Series has to be matched to a special Bose Equaliser. Series I & II use the same Equaliser.Series III & IV use the same Equaliser. Series V & VI use the same Equaliser.

You need a Bose 901 Equaliser with your Bose 901 speaker system. The sound will be terrible, without one.And you can't substitute another Manufacturer's Equaliser for the Bose 901's Equaliser because the sound will still be bad. Also ,if you use ,for example a Series VI Equaliser with a Series I speaker, the sound will not be correct and sound limited.Conversely, A Series I Equaliser with a Series VI speaker will render a bright and bassy colouration .

So, you will need the Bose Equaliser for the 901 Series V & VI .This is the only one you can use.

Did the Equaliser come with your speakers ?

Do you know the power rating of the speakers,so i can suggest a suitable Amplifier ?

EDIT...2.. Bose recommends an Amplifier with a minimum of 30 watts continuous per channel.

How much are you willing to pay for a Receiver ?

EDIT...3....Here is a list of Receivers which should match your 901s.. Choose a higher powered model for your speakers.

EDIT 4.. A Stereo Integrated Amplifier will perform much better than a Receiver..Here is a list.
