There have been several better than him. On the day he died there were 51 legislative proposals in the "pending basket" which he could not get passed by a Congress dominated by members of his own party. Within a year his successor had 49 of those proposals on the law books. He made more trips across the Atlantic than across the Appalachian Mountains.
His twin legacies are creation of the Army Special Forces and the Peace Corps. And the first director of the Peace Corps was a marital relative.
I served under seven Presidents. Kennedy ranks just above Jimmy Carter in that pantheon. Carter was the worst.

Kennedy worked fantabulously well as a spokesman and manwh*re.
He didn't do anything spectacular for the country though.
Seriously though, how about all those people who supported social programs for the poor, they helped the poor and middle class, seriously, have you never heard of the NEW DEAL programs??
Kennedy was shody, and nothing beyond that.
He helped no one!
And we should not say the best president is someone who helps the poor, it should be the one who helped the nation as a whole, someone who helps everyone help themselves.
Seriously, when are we going to get the President who reforms welfare so people actually have to go back to work and learn skills? When are we going to have a President who gets rid of teh demmed income tax? Or a President who will cut all the demmed corporate welfare?
Seriously... JFK didn't help anyone, and I hope to G-d we get better presidents then him.

kennedy was good at bangin ho's, like clinton, the best legacy either of them have are their units, the dude gets so much credit cause he got shot. I mean that's the only reason we still have an embargo against cuba (absolutely ridiculous by the way). We would be much better off doing business with cuba than china, but here we are years later still holding a grudge because there is Ted and enough of his cronies still in office, what a bunch of rubbish, kennedy, the best president ever, jeez, when will that ever die. You know what's awesome, bullets that stop in mid action and take perfect right angle turns, and does three loopdy loos before coming out your as*!

I don't know anything that Kennedy did but I think Ronald Reagan was a better president. He destroyed the Soviet Union, built up our military, kept us in the space race, brought financial prosperity and brought respect back to the White House until Clinton botched it with his loose morals. Reagan was the best president since Eisenhower.

If you look into history and read history, you will find that J.F.K wasn't that great of a President. His biggest claim to fame, as trajic as it is, is that he was assasignated.
His next highest claim would be the Cuban missle crisis, and lets not for get the big bomb. He was able to escalate the Vietnam War.
No disrespect to our veterans with that. I love our Military Veterans as they are all my brothers and sisters. Past and present.
As I said, read up on your history. Ronald Reagan was a much better President, and to date, nobody has done as well for our country or the world since. That includes Clinton. He was the one who dropped the ball on so many attacks on US soil.

Ronald Reagan did not destroy the Soviet Union, but that is not on topic.
W. Bush, I mean Kennedy pushed through tax cuts that benefited the wealthy and elite of American society. I cannot see how that helped the poor or middle class.

Uh, perhaps you'd like to delve a little deeper into JFK's Presidency.
yes, he was a good man, but he had his foibles, just as any man does.
He was Damn lucky that Khrushchev blinked; otherwise, his gamble could have led us to WWIII!
He was a President, not a deity.

Kennedy got us into Vietnam.
The best President of the last century had to be Ronald Reagan. He brought down the Soviet Union and never fired a shot.
