Over an Xbox 360? Yeah!
PS3 games produced are on Hd 50gig blueray (more space for better graphics without sacrificing game levels and game size..) GTA4 developers even stated that the game will have better graphics and gaming on the ps3 version and are having issues with the 360 version because of 8gig dvd game format... They may have to make the 360 version on multiple disc so if you like getting out of your chair alot while playing, .....
360-elite games produced on dual layered 8gig dvds
game developers are finding the 360 format to limiting and finding that they have to sacrifice game graphics or gaming levels and challenges...Bungie the makers of HALO series have parted the exclusive ways with Microsoft and are now developing games that are multiplatform...
Ps3 499 and xbox 360 399or elite for $479---THe Ps3 for the extra $20 you get a full HD entertainment system that also surfs the internet. You can goto any website and watch or download videos like YouTube...You can access your email and print it etcc...
Ps3 Blueray hd movie player that also upscales regular dvds movies to HD...It also upscales ps2 games to hd..
Ps3 comes with rechargeable controllers...
Ps3 comes with free online play and Wifi
All of the above the 360-elite can't do.
360 and elite -For hd movies you have to buy the hddvd player for $200. For
360 elite for quick charge kit you have to buy it for $20.
To play online the 360 charges $50 a year
360 elite no interent browser
Ps3 hdmi 1.3 (supports deep color)
360-elite- 1.2 doesn't support deepcolor 1.3
Ps3 Nvidia RSX GPU Graphics at least two years ahead of it's time. And programmers aren't even close to using it's full potential yet.
360-elite is hardware locked into outdated DX9 graphics-Game programmers are developoing for DX10 (full 4d and 3d motion realism)
THe ps3 8cell broadband processors. CPU-Designed specifically for highspeed calculations (Games Capable of more AI charactors )
Xbox 360 -Elite-- The New 65NM CHip....Isn't any different then what they used in the 360 core except it cost less to produce....
Ps3 you can buy any external usb harddrive and hook it up loaded with music videos , etc...You can buy any brand 2.5 ata harddrive and upgrade the harddrive size for ps3...
THe elite and 360 requires Microsoft harddrives only- for a 20gig it's $100, for the 120 it's $189
360 -elite for wifi you have to pay an additional $100 and online gaming is $50 a year...And for that $50 a year to play online you also get stuck with third party in menu advertising...
To use 60% of what the 360 and elite can do you have to buy the addons and you'll spend over $750 before you even insert a game.
THe elite and new 360s hdmi, 65nm, red ring of death--Microsoft has no Idea what the cause is, You can't fix what you can't find. Game producer are even finding that the engines that Micorsofts provides them to develope games on are getting the Red ring of death and it is not caused by just the hardware engineering flaws. They are seriously frustrated and that is one reason Bungie the maker of the Halo series has left their exclusive contract with microsoft and is now developing games for other systems. Microsoft still owns Halo though. So yes all the 360s even the new ones are all vulnerable.
THe 360 sales numbers are game producer driven by three titles HALO, bioshock ( rumored to be multiplatform soon and availble to the pc now) and Gears of war (available to the PC now)...If it wasn't for those titles many gamers wouldn't tolerate the limitations and engineering flaws of the 360
Get the ps3 you can use it for so much more. We own all three. THe wii, elite and ps3... The ps3 will take you into the next two generations of game consoles... The 360 will have to be re deigned or another generation produced by 2009
Graphics - PS3 has some games that have better graphics, due to extended production time, but Xbox 360 dominates most games in graphics (bearing in mind that these are not much graphical differences, so it won't matter much), the PS3 all in all, has more graphics power than the 360 which may prove vital later down the line.
Games - Xbox 360 has tonnes of games to go along with, but it has been said that they are too similiar, only dipping their hands into the 'shooter' genre, whilst PS3 does not have many games, but they are over a wide rane of genres. Since Xbox 360 has over a year's production time more than PS3, the games will be much more but PS3 may dominate.
Online play - The 360 has a much more vast environment for online play than the PS3. But while you have to pay monthly, it is a split decision.
Media - The 360 can be connected up to Windows Media Center, it can interact with it to send music, videos, pictures, and even MSN can be used. The 360 wired controllers are compatible with PC. 360 cannot use Blu-ray, but can rival it with HD-DVD. PS3 can support up to 7 wireless controllers, support Blu-ray DVDs, CDs, images, PSP.
System issues - Now, heres for the not so good part, it is reported that between 25% - 33% of all Xbox 360's bought have shown the RROD, this is a serious dent in the 360 market. Due to the design of the Xbox 360, there has been an increased risk in the system being rendered unusable. Nyko intercooler fans have been introduced onto the market, which really shows up the 360. Overheating issues, disc scratching issues, disc read errors have also been reported, with Microsoft either turning their backs, or giving a helping hand, either though there is a high number of unsatisfied customers. On the other hand, the PS3 has only a few problems, none of which are as severe as the 360's, still making it playable. But caring for your systems will reduce the risk of failure and malfunction.
Price - PS3 ranges from £299.99 to £379.99, since the price reduction which was now been widespread. In America, the equivalent of those values will be ranging from $399.99 to $499.99. The Xbox 360 ranges from £189.99 - £300.00 in England, and $219.99 - $449.99
. In reality, the Playstation 3 may cost more as a single payment, but overtime, if you are one of the more 'unfortunate ones' to buy the 360, you will pay less, but repair costs, add-ons etc may cost you even more. If you really care for your 360, I can guarantee, that it will last you a very long time unless you are 'less fortunate', Make sure to give the 360 at least 6 inches of ventilation space and it will last a whole lot longer.
If there are any errors in my answer, please don't insult me, but just correct me in a comment or another alternative, thank you.

No. I have many recreation strategies, however don't plan to shop for the PS3 any time quickly. I do, nonetheless, have the Wii and XBox 360. The PS3 on the second does not present whatever past what those strategies do so far as video games pass. The Wii is certainly the extra a laugh of the 2, even though XBox 360 has larger photos. The PS3 *might* be valued at it one day, if new video games pop out which are optimized for the PS3. That isn't assured. Sony has bungled the release and it isn't transparent whilst, if ever, PS3 will take off just like the PS2 did. In this hindrance, builders will expand for different structures - like XBox 360 - first, then port to the PS3. Thus, PS3 video games will likely be non-special, and won't seem a lot larger than at the XBox 360. The best purpose to shop for could be for those who rather desire a blu-ray participant. I say, wait and spot how the PS3 works out, and with a bit of luck there will likely be a cost drop, earlier than spending your cash.

drake is right ps3s r better they do have better graphics than xbox 360 and xbox 360 sucks go drake im with u all the way plus u can play hd dvd which r the movies that xbox 360 play on ps3 but u cant play blu ray on xbox 360 cool huh and sony uses blu ray for there games also which has heaps of space than xbox disks have so more room for detail and graphics better quality over all so they games r longer with better graphics thats why they have better graphics than xbox 360. u can also go on internet for free if u put the ethernet cable in2 your computer and your ps3 but xbox 360 chages u $50 a year for online service ps3 also has 6 axis 2 make your game play more realistic but its only on certain games not all. its on games like motor storm ridge racer 7 or 9 i think and some others and there putting it on more if u get the 60 gig ps3 also it has backwards compatiblity so u can play ps 1 and ps2 games on it also. so far it sounds like the ps3 is heaps better than the xbox 360 right? well it is theres only one little problem ive expirienced with the ps3 and that is it over heats so much so u can cook an egg on it. but thats only bacause its far superior 2 the xbox 360 and it can burn out if u dont follow the following precautions IMPORTANT keep it in a cool room then u should have no problems. On the first day I got mine it started 2 get a little hot and i heard of over heating so i moved it 2 a air conditioned room and it never got hot again if but that doesnt mean mine would have burnt out if i left it in there i just did it 2 be safe but 2 burn out id say it would have 2 be a hot day u playing it for hours on end and be unlucky but still be safe put a fan near it. And the bad thing about xbox 360 is it scratches all your disks that u put in and u cant play them after afew days its really common apparently and the red ring of death where the ring goes red instead of green and doesnt work for no reason. over all i would get a ps3 heaps better far superior 2 xbox 360 less problems and can do more things sony r smarter than microsoft right now. i hope i have been some help 2 u dude but remember in the end its wat u want and wat u think is best for u.and if u need more questions answered on either the ps3 xbox 360 or the psp email me at al.nitriouae@gmail.com thats also my messenger.

The playstation 3 isn't your average game system. With it you can not only play games and/or play them online for FREE unlike xbox 360. With the 80 gb system you can store files such as music and videos using one of many different storage cards ie: usb flash drive, sd card etc. Its also a bluray player to watch movies. Playstation 3 has many benefits over it's competitors. Yea for example the xbox 360 is cheaper. But the overall price is more. With the 360 it costs 12.00/month to play online, there is no built in wireless networking card to play online wirelessly just to name a few. Microsoft charges you for every little accessory that it is designed for. I highly reccomend the ps3 to anyone.
as for the Wii yea its appealing at first but is truly boring after a week.

Yes, it's not only a great gaming console, but a very good multimedia center. It's fully compatible with "Smart Home" concept. If you'll compare it to 360:
PS3 will win the console war, no doubt. Xbox 360 and Wii are so weak from technological point of view, that in couple of years they won't be capable of dealing with serious graphics. GTA IV, for instance, isn't even announced for Wii - this toy won't be able to cope with the game's requirements. Xbox 360 is getting GTA IV, however, the game is going to be released on several DVDs - Xbox 360 owners will have to interrupt gaming process and switch discs (Rockstar complained about this issue). Only PS3 will have it on single BD-DVD.
Let's compare PS3 and XBOX 360:
1). A third of XBOX 360 (33%) are malfunctioning right from the start. PS3 return rate is only around 0.2%. Despite some people say, that new 360 has no breakdown issues - just visit Xbox section of Yahoo answers and see for yourself an amount of complaints.
2). PS3 has 8 (7+1) kernels in Cell processor, Xbox 360 -only 3.
3). PS3 uses advanced tech called Blu-Ray, one disc can store up to 54 gb (in the future - up to 200 gb), Xbox 360 - regular dual layer DVD-9 (8.5GB). It's possible to get HD-DVD (max. - 30GB) for 360, but it'll cost you around 180$, in this case Xbox is going to be MUCH more expensive, than PS3.
4). Calculations per sec - PS3 - 51-billion-dot-product-operati... per second
Xbox 360 - 33.6-billion-dot-product-opera... per second
5). PS3 has full media support - USBs, built-in 4 slots card reader (except 20GB and 40GB versions), ability to use printer and so on.
Xbox 360 has USBs and only 2 memory slots.
6). PS3 supports up to 7 Bluetooth Controllers
Xbox 360 - up to 4 Controllers
7). PS3 - wi-fi included (except 20 gb version)
Xbox 360 - wi-fi will cost you around 100 $
8). From the first technical sight - graphics are stronger in 360 (it has a stronger graphics chip - Xenos), BUT PS3 can use it's Cell CPU for graphics too, which gives you better graphics in total. PS3 uses a weaker RSX chip, that was developed by Nvidia exclusively for PS3. RSX runs on 550 Mhz. It's difficult to compare their graphics, because 360 has a video chip with totally different structure and operating memory is divided differently in both consoles. Xbox isn't that versatile in dividing tasks between CPU and GPU as PS3. That's why PS3 exclusives look better than 360's exclusives.
9). PS3 uses technology from AGEIA company. It does to physics of the game same thing GPU (videocard processor) does to graphics. This thing is on sale for PC(special card). The price is around 350$. There is no such thing in 360.
10). Xbox 360 is widely known for so-called "red ring of death" problem - it gets overheated easily. My PS3 was running for more than 15 hours non-stop with no problems. Sometimes Xbox 360 becomes so overheated, that thermopaste on CPU melts, drips on motherboard and successfully shortcircuits it. That's why in some countries people call Xbox 360 "Coffin 360".
11). Besides all of this, I've seen disassembled Xbox 360 - regular PC architecture - Billy Gates is an uninventive nerd (as usual).
When I saw disassembled PS3 - it was a surprise - smart architecture, good cooling (don't buy external PS3 coolers - they make everything worse - original system is good), etc.
12). In 2008 PS3 will get more than 300 games, including Metal Gear Solid 4, The Agent and other great exclusives. Here is the good link to the future PS3 releases. http://ps3.ign.com/index/release.html......
13). PS3 online is free, Xbox 360 - you have to pay.
14). There were reports, that 360 scratches discs. No reports on that in PS3.
15). The funniest thing, that right now there are no games for PS3, that show full potential of the console. Biggest games weigh only 25 GB (Xbox 360 will need more than 3 discs even for those).
16). On PS3 you can install other OS, such as Linux Yellow Dog, Ubuntu and others. Sony officially lets you do it. There is no such thing in 360.
17). PS3 HDD can be replaced easily with any 2.5" SATA 5400 RPM HDD (used in laptops). 250 GB will cost you around 170$. In 360 you have to buy exclusive HDD, where 20GB will cost you 100$.
18).Sony expects PS3 to stay on the market for, at least, 7-10 years. Also Sony reduces price now. There is a cheaper 40GB version of PS3.
19).Sony constantly upgrades PS3 software (free updates for OS) - you get new functions and improvements.
20). PS3 controller (sixaxis) has a motion control - you move controller - game responds. Wii has it, Xbox 360 - doesn't. PS3 is getting rumble controller (Dualshock 3) in 1st quarter 2008, Japan already has it. On www.ebay.com I saw those controllers on sale 50$ and up (unofficial import)
21).On PS3 you can help sick people by running Folding Home project. Wii and Xbox 360 didn't even think about it.
22).New 40GB is 399$ or 399 euro (depends on the region) - it has no backwards compatibility with PS2 games, has 2 USBs instead of 4, no built-in card reader, but it's the same PS3, strong, reliable, less noisy, different cooling system. The price is friendly.
23). But, to be just, I'm not a PS3 fanboy, so (despite I own one) hear this - PS3 games (exclusives) are very hard to develop due to complicated Cell's architecture. We have to wait till developers will figure out how to develop games properly. Sometimes multiplatform games run not so good on PS3 due to the same developing issues - it's hard for developers to get a grip on such advanced technologies.
I didn't mention Wii, because it's so weak, no point to talk about it. Leave it for kindergarten and casual games.
