Assuming they haven't changed anything since I went through basic five years ago, you won't be able to char an electric toothbrush. You also won't be allowed to wear boxers.
I suggest you take extra white socks, or buy more there. I also suggest buying extra black socks (or green, whichever they issue now) and underwear. You'll be issued 7 sets of these undergarments. Laundry service has a one week turnaround, and you're only allowed to turn in half your clothing at a time. Wearing dirty skivvies isn't fun.
Oh, and you're allowed to have flavored chapstick, as one drill sergeant discovered after he confiscated everyone's and had to return it all.
I wont pretend to know squat about what goes on at OCS.

They will generally let you have the basics, socks, boxers, etc and give you a specific issue of standard items and wont let you use your own. This is to establish a neutral ground for everyone is the same and starting offf as equals. They will require you to fold them certain ways, store them in a limited area. Items like you computer will most likely not be allowed. You are there to learn what they have to teach you and for that period all outside influences are prohibited. All your personal clothing will be stored away and not allowed to wear them until you leave or close to when you can leave. Even when you out of class, you will be required to wear their uniforms as they prescribe.
Good Luck

You want to take very little. Because when you get there the drill sgt are all going to go crazy. You're going to be running in circles with all your TA50 and duffle bags and they are going to get mad when you're in formation and your crap is all over the place. You are going to be so scared of your own shadow that first day. And you won't have time to get on a lap top. They may take it, it may get broke. Stuff like hygiene that you can put in a very small bag would be enough. Don't even take a change of clothes because they are going to take it and when you get ready to leave basic you will be in uniform.

You don't want to take an electric toothbrush. Trust me. Laptop? Not basic ... MAYBE OCS. Listen to the kid above me ... or wait 'til you get to permanent party.
