Blue screen on my laptop with error msg saying dumping memory...and some countdown to 100, then it reboots?

before that happened, i tried to install sims2, but it said that it's not compatible with vista. then i also tried installing alcohol120%...and that started it, when i tried to run alcohol, it also said that it's not compatible with vista, then after a few seconds, the blue screen appeared.
i also tried booting with safe mode(so i can uninstall sims2 and alcohol), but it still doesnt work and still having the blue screen after loading the components of windows.
but each time i tried booting on normal mode, it does continue to boot until it shows my desktop, but after a few seconds, the blue screen will appear again. (with the same error msg)
what seems to be the problem and how can i solve this?
can i replace vista with windows xp that i dont need to reformat my laptop?(coz i really need the files) and i can't back-up the files bcoz of those problem even with safemode.

It happened to me a month ago,if you have no external back-up drive you can try putting in the original disc that came with your computer and resore it.
You will solve the problem but will loose all your data ,your computer will be just as it came out of the box.
Then you can re-install any programs you have the original discs for such as "word" etc..Buy a 300 gig back up external drive it saved me.

Vista must be the main recent and allegedly the acceptable from Microsoft, that's to early to have confidence it. bypass back to XP and wait some extra months. it fairly is the advice i'm getting from experts at artwork. We use Microsoft with the aid of fact we ought to, yet that doesn't propose we does not all swap to some thing extra suitable. Toss Vista for now, wait till the hot variations that preserve those subject concerns are released.

Restart it in safe mode .... seems you have a virus.

Restart in safe mode, run virus scan, run spybot, and remove any programs you recently installed.
