Salsa is supposed to be eaten raw. It's just tomatoes, onions and other vegetables made into a chunky sauce. All okay to eat raw. Yummy with tortilla chips or on nachos or tacos.

There are both recipes for a cooked salsa and a fresh salsa. It depends on when it was made and how it was stored. If you are planning on making a sals that you can jar or freeze I would use a cooked salsa.
