My tuna salad sandwich recipe
1 small can of tuna packed in water drained
1 boiled egg white diced with the yolk discarded
1 stick celery diced
1 green onion diced
2 T. fat free miracle whip
1 T. pickle relish (choice of sweet or dill is yours)
Mix all the above ingredients in a bowl and put it in the fridge for approx 1 1/2 hour.
I put the whole thing on 2 slices of 8 grain bread or honey wheat bread by bilberry an eat it. Its nearly fat free except for the small amount of fat in the bread and tuna
I also sometimes put a big lettuce leaf on it and a slice of swiss fat free cheese. This makes a great lunch with a can of tomato soup and a glass of cold brew iced tea made with splenda.
I also need to add it is an excellent source of nutrition unless you use regular miracle whip and leave that egg yolk which makes it too high in fat.

Tuna is in fact a good food to eat when you are on a diet. The best bread for this is Whole Wheat because it contains wheat(As told by the name). The best Tuna for this is "Light" tuna because it contains less calories and they take as much fat away from it as possible(Unlike original tuna). So it's Wheat Bread and "Light" Tuna for a good low fat/calorie diet.

probably not the best thing to eat if you are on a diet. chicken of the sea tuna with egg whites and mustard can be alright, but it doesn't really have the taste of normal tuna. the mayonnaise that people put in tuna is pretty much a glob of fat--not the best thing for a diet.

Tuna is great for a diet. Its a great protein and a great source of Omega 3 fats. Try to use as little mayonaise as possible, and istead of bread wrap it in lettuce or a low carb tortilla to lower the carb and calorie content. I hope this helps.

Tuna is definately GREAT to eat when you are on a diet. It is low in fat and high in protein... which is what you should aim for!

My fave is to mix it with light miracle whip with chopped up green onions on 100% whole wheat bread.

Kind of a rule of thumb: When it comes to picking the right protein sources, opt for lean meats such as fish, chicken, turkey, and lean cuts of beef.

Definitely tuna packed in water ... whole wheat bread (read the labels - some wheat bread has no more fiber than white bread) and use light mayo or mustard .. something low in fat .. regular mayo is loaded with fat & calories!

yes its very healthy if its on whole wheat bread(or multigrain if u dont like whole wheat) tuna is full of protein and wil keep u full. grilled chicken sandwiches are good too and believe it or not, a peanut butter sandwich is actually healthy if u use organic or natural peanut butter(no trans fat) and whole wheat bread. dont listen to crap about nuts and peanut butter...
