read their bibles, find verses, and when you read the verse it can be as simple as

"Jim went to the tree, climbed up it, and ate a tasty apple because he was hungry and then went to sleep later that night on a full stomach."

yet a christian would Explain, the already very simple thing as something more complex, and distort it, for no reason, like

"what its actually saying is that Jim was hungry for the knowledge of the dark, and he worked hard to finally gain this knowledge (dark knowledge, the devil's knowledge, sin, witchcraft) and because of this, his body was so full of sin from all his witchcraft that he slept which means he died."

Seriously, does this piss you other atheists off slightly when trying to reason with them, they start doing this?

It irritates me so bad.

So what u r saying is I don't have a right to read the Bible or share my faith with others. On a religious spiritual site.
But u can get on this site & pass judgement on my faith & my walk with my God. What have I ever distorted? U don't even know me how dare u judge me, yet u don't want me to judge u.
Now that is 2 wrong. If it irritates u don't read the things that bother u.
It is that simple, so u just want to rag on Christians.
I have never ragged on u or ur beliefs.

It depends on who you talk to.

Example: Some people do not accept that Jesus is the begotten Son of God. The verses that call him the begotten son and firstborn of all creation is not enough. They have to find things of the church such as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost - no such verse or teaching exists in the Bible. Or Jesus the "eternally begotten" no such verse exists in the Bible.

Who is doing this? You are right...it is sick! The Bible interprets itself. You don't need story tellers. You need the facts. Find the publication entitled, "What Does the Bible REALLY Teach." Then you will get accurate information.

I'm not an atheist, but yes that kind of circular logic does rather annoy me when trying to have a conversation with some Christians.

Really bothers me when they do this too, but not because I'm an Atheist. I'm not an Atheist. I'm not Christian either. I am a Witch who believes in God and the Goddess, but the Bible spouting drives my crazy!

for it said in John3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life.

YOU MEAN LIKE THAT?

What do you want to hear?

Drink, smoke, have sex thats all people are good for nowadays but to spread love to the world is a big problem.

GOD!

That's totally true. It's a way to make excuses for ridiculous tales such as Noah's Ark. Everything is symbolic when it suits them. When they can't explain HOW or WHY they do this to deflect you
