I have found/purchased the perfect wedding dress for me, but I don't particularly like strapless dresses. I'm trying to figure out a way to add nice straps to my dress w/o it looking tacky.

If you are going with a color for the trim you could probably have a seamstress shorten the tails of the bow and make straps from the removed fabric. I guess you do it with white trim too.

Beautiful dress either way.

you have 2 selections right here. One could be to function straps above the bust, up around the shoulder and to the decrease back of the gown decrease than your shoulder blades. the 2nd selection could be to function straps on the two factor of the bust close to to bust, of direction no longer decrease than the arm pit, and the two criss flow them interior the decrease back or carry them as much as the decrease back of your neck, halter style. Any qualified seamstress can upload any style of straps. The trick right here is to make the straps look as though component to the gown and not an obtrusive upload-on, so the fabric must be intently chosen. that's relatively useful to flow to a extensive fabrics shop (none on your section? then flow to the closest city) and examine out their trims. you ought to ok stumble on a great white fabrics and make a one inch thick strap then placed a silver trim based on the strap to examine the bust element on the gown. If it is in simple terms too lots for you, then in simple terms flow with a elementary white strap that may no longer spaghetti skinny, yet somewhat thicker or possibly a strap it is made up of skinny white chiffon that's somewhat amassed and then tied around the decrease back of your neck.

My friend's mother made her wedding dress and the pattern was strapless, but she just used ribbon and attached it as straps. I would use the same color as the trim.

Davids bridal has sleeve options. But I would do a white spaghetti strap. If you look on the alternate view of your dress on the link you provided it looks kinda like it has white spaghetti straps on it already...but it is just the manaquin. good luck

If I remeber correctly I think David's strapless gown have optional straps. If they don't it shouldn't be too expensive

I would do really thin spaghetti straps the same color of your trim. Just my opinion. Beautiful Dress :)

sure we add them to gowns a lot. some times they are doubled or criss crossed in the back. David's sells three different kinds of straps that can be added nicely.
