I have spent time in Turkey on two occasions and the Turkish people are so nice! My husband and I had a game we played in every country we visited. We rated the country on a scale of 1-10 in several categories. One category was hospitality and the Turks got a 10. No other country came close to them in their kindness to strangers. Besides, it is a beautiful country, with so much to see and do.
I think some countries don't like Turks for things that happened in the past and they are not willing to forgive. I thought it was great several years ago when there was the big earthquake in Turkey, and the Greeks came to help. It was a big step for them to work together as neighbors. Americans and Canadians think Turkey is very exotic and interesting. You will probably be asked if you see many belly-dancers or if there are lots of camels or if Turkey is full of the big birds we eat at holidays!

I lived in Istanbul and loved it. At 6'4" with a beard and shoulder length hair I really stood out. Being married and a Bhuddist (Okay to pray in mosks) I really enjoyed the secular Muslim culture and the people. If your single and like to party go to Amsterdam, Paris or Hamberg. The Turks are wonderful people, more speak German than english.

i know 2 turkish people. you can't just judge by where they come from, though (:
they are both very different.
anway, the country i like the best is Italy. it's a must-see... and a place that you should definetly be able to say you have seen. also, there are many famous architectural buildings and the Vatican there!
hope this helps (:

Have been several times to your country and where I live some of my best friends are turkish.
But that is my personal opinion only.
As I don't look at nationality race or religion when I chose my friends it is for their personality.

It's a step down. Be very careful. There are desperate people in larger numbers the futher away you get from home.

I don't know any Turks, thus I have no opinion one way or the other.
I think you'd find that most Americans are that way too.
Oh, I hear you make great taffy, though! :)
