On your behalf, and Crispin's of course, I asked my dog Murphy if he agreed. His exact words were, " perception is everything".

But he also advocates a steady supply of fresh cold water at all times!

Reality is an illusion!

You perceive your environment in a certain way, and when it matches, that is also perceived as reality.

Your senses may take in 2% of the information in your environment at best, so what really is reality.

Crispin is a funny name for a cat, but says volumes!

Crispin is a strange anomoly, seeing that this cat can speak and reason. I think if others can hear the cat, then you can put Crispin in a show! Crispin's talking tells a lot about you, if you care to listen.

Let's face it, cats do not speak, so you may want to consider why this one does, and ask a professional about that, and I am not talking about the vet!

Our perception is the only way we know anything. Tell me something you or anyone knows without perceiving it. A question is, how do we get our perception closer to reality. Another question is, how many ways do we perceive besides through the senses? Are some more reliable than others?

Ask Crispin, please, s/he is a smart kitty kat. Then maybe you can introduce Crispin to my Mr M. Lately, the only thing he thinks about is tearing up the house.

To a degree he may be. Your perception will affect how you interact with reality, but it will not change it. Two examples: People who's first language does not contain separate words for blue and green have a hard time differentiating between the two colors, and yet there are two distinct wave lengths of light. Second example, if you perceive that a cliff is not in front of you and you walk forward, you will still fall.

An interesting side light, we all perceive that blue and yellow mixed makes green (in subtractive color spaces) but what really happens is our eye interpret the mixture as green.

Tell Crispin that how you perceive things is what makes the reality. Therefore neither is less important.

All is nothing and nothing is all.

No, that's a half truth. How you perceive things is important but you have to see them from God's perspective because He is the God of truth and when perceptions don't match up with truth, then they are a distortion of reality.

Here's a simple example. Say you are going through a hard time. Most people would get discoraged or angry or disappointed. Now if you pretend that you are not really going through a hard time then you could manufacture an emotional state of cheerfulness or you could experience true joy by looking at the situation as God at work in your life shaping your character.

Romans 5:3 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

James 1:2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Crispin needs to take a closer look at reality, and how he percieves things.

Crispin has been spending too much time on this forum, soon he will think he has magical powers and that his stereo is haunted.

Kick him across the room a few times, see if he still thinks his perception is all that matters.

(BTW, don't freak, PETAites, I know he won't do this because I know no cat would ever say something that stupid. Only a human philosopher could be so dumb.)

If your cat talked to you, you need help. Remember that the Lord Jesus Christ died for your sins. This is reality that you need to know. 1 Corinthians 15: 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 1 Corinthians 15: 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
