Interesting isnt it? Good things? -God did it, Bad?-Gods will for a reason or the devils influence..ya cant lose! My sister died of a brain tumor when she was 8 yrs old and she suffered for a long time, gradually getting worse when her frail body couldnt take it anymore..am I supposed to believe this was gods will for some reason like he( or she) would rather have her by his (or her )side than her family? at such a young age?..gimme a break! I didnt buy it then and I dont buy it now..for some reason we cant accept reality as it is and we have to justify everything according to god...THAT was what opened my eyes and made me realize that I was just being conditioned to think like most everyone else..- that there is a god and heaven and hell and all the rest,,I dont doubt the existence of jesus but things have really spun out of control over the years...what a mess!! I want no part of it..just the "golden rule" will do it for me...

People blame God all the time. After 9/11 the media showed people running around saying "How could God let this happen to us?" Same thing after natural disasters, too. And if you stay on this forum long, you will see people who are angry at God because something bad occurred in their lives.

People who want to give God credit sometimes think He needs someone to defend Him. His ways are way above our ways.

Remember that Joseph gave God credit for the abuse he received from his brothers, but he also recognized that God was very wise in that He "meant it for good."

Because believers don't think rationally, like the first answer: yeah, it's in his "plan" that you'll suffer horribly as you die of cancer, after watching all of your children die in a car accident, screaming and burning as the flames engulf them while you are trapped and helpless - but you'll still thank some imaginary god for his "plan." I'm sorry, but that's just insanity. And yes, those events I described DO happen to people - and they still buy the fairy tale.

It's not his fault if Man screws up the World why can't People assume personal responsibility instead of looking to the sky and blaming God for not intervening every time something bad happens.

Nah, there's sappy chain letters for when sh*t happens. Seriously. It's "inspirational," to know that God has a plan when your child gets killed or you get hit by a car.

Maybe because people don't know the whole counsel of God's Word.

Ezekiel 7:9 And my eye will not spare, nor will I have pity. I will punish you according to your ways, while your abominations are in your midst. Then you will know that I am the LORD, who strikes.

Hebrews 12:7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? 8 If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. 9 Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live! 10 Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. 11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

Deuteronomy 32:18 You deserted the Rock, who fathered you; you forgot the God who gave you birth. 19 The LORD saw this and rejected them because he was angered by his sons and daughters.

20 "I will hide my face from them," he said, "and see what their end will be; for they are a perverse generation, children who are unfaithful. 21 They made me jealous by what is no god and angered me with their worthless idols. I will make them envious by those who are not a people; I will make them angry by a nation that has no understanding.

22 For a fire has been kindled by my wrath, one that burns to the realm of death below. It will devour the earth and its harvests and set afire the foundations of the mountains. 23 "I will heap calamities upon them and spend my arrows against them. 24 I will send wasting famine against them, consuming pestilence and deadly plague; I will send against them the fangs of wild beasts, the venom of vipers that glide in the dust. 25 In the street the sword will make them childless; in their homes terror will reign. Young men and young women will perish, infants and gray-haired men.

The free will of man is the downfall of the human race, but a gift given by God. A gift destroyed, and trampled on. Man and Satan cause the bad. God causes the good.
