Google search for "pepperoni ingredients" gave me http://www.marketwatch.com/discussions/msgReader.asp?siteId=mktw&parentId=2&forumId=24&boardId=10786&msgId=75

It doesn't sound like there is red dye in typical pepperoni, although it could be in the cheapest stuff, like at the dollar store.

My son has had a reaction to red dye since he was a child..Whenever we went to the pizza parlor in town he would end up screaming on the way out. Very angry and aggressive....a complete departure from his usual self. Once we started to suspect the red dye we avoided it. He is now 27 and buys his own food...has been quite a health nut so doesn't tend to think about the dyes any more because he doesn't eat processed food. However, he just ordered pizza to be delivered the other day because we're in the midst of sub-zero temps and he couldn't go out...Ate the two pizzas within about a 10hr time span and had a severe reaction.

I don't know if all pepperoni has red ffood dye but I'm willing to bet that a lot of it does. These have always been regular pizza parlors that he's had the reaction.
