do you start by working the tricep or bicep? or does it matter

it does not matter but i start with bicep curls.

why not alternate and see how it works. that way you will see what effect starting with one or the other has. then you can choose. i always do tricep first myself because they are two thirds of the muscle mass of upper arm. for some reason my biceps get pumped up quickly whether i lift heavy or light but i have to work harder to get tricep pump.

It doesn't matter which one you do first.
Just make sure your doing them right.

I find that if I do biceps first, my forearms are too tired for my triceps work.
