Isn't this the sort of thing that you should see a DOCTOR about ;););););)

Umm lets see, if you were stuck in the jungle, and there were no doctors, would you die from this wound? Not necessarily. You need to put pressure on it to stop the bleeding of course. It's great that you disinfected it and then bandaged it up. You'll want to put the skin back in place the best you can and bandage it up firm but not too tight. If you don't get stitches it can still heal, but you have to hold it in place real well and not disturb it for at least a week to let the flesh start mending itself. The more you disturb it, the more it can get infected. If you clean it too much, it will kill all the friendly bacteria which can cause gangrene. Very bad. Bottom line is, if you absolutely can't get to a doctor, dress the wound firmly and don't disturb it while it heals. We do live in a (mostly) civilized world though, so you should probably go ahead and see a doctor. A hospital is required to admit you regardless of your ability to pay for it. Good luck!

ok, well you did a good thing by stopping the bleeding but you should really go to the doctors to get it stitched.

Reasons to get stitches:

1. It closes the wound and encourages healing
2. it protects the wound from infection
3. there will be less of a scar
4. will prevent it from reopening
5. will prevent it from bleeding more
6. A doctor will be able to asses if you did any significant damage to muscle, nerves or blood vesicles.

I cut my hand accidentally at work with a box cutter. Their biggest concern was infection, then if I cut my tendons or nerves. It didn't take much to get it bleeding again when they took the bandage off. The above list is what they told me when I got it done.

You'll be just fine if you don't really need that arm. I'm not kidding you. My brother in law died from gangrene and blood poisoning because he did not take proper care of a broken arm with a cut. I don't know what's going on and why you do not want to go to a doctor, but your life could depend on getting decent medical treatment. Muscle exposed? What could you be thinking?

apply pressure to the laceration(cut) with a wet rag for 10 mins and replace the rag when it gets too dirty. to stop bleeding:
-elevate the place that is bleeding
-wash your hands and put many layers of fabric on the cut.
-clean the cut gently
-call doctor
-do not use alcohol or benzol peroxide as this will damage the tissue and slow healing
-apply butterfly bandagess bc this is a long cut but if none are availible use normal bandages
you need stitches if:
-if the cut is more than 1/4 inches deep
-they have jagged edges or gaping open
-cuts that continue to bleed after 15 mins of pressure.
-cuts on joints
hope this helps

If you cant afford the Dr./Hosp. bill go to the county Hosp. in your area that is what they receive funds for from the state. There are people in the hosp that can help you get on medical aid.

You need an X-Ray to see if any glass is still in their and stitches, if you can see muscle you Reilly need stitches,, NOW!

try that website

most likely if you can see muscle and if its still bleeding you need to go to the doctor immediately.
there is no reason that you can not go see one, your health is more important than how much it will cost if you don't have insurance or for any other personal reasons.

even if it has stopped bleeding scarring can occur and infection and it doesn't matter how much peroxide you put on it.

please be more careful!

apply pressure to the wound and hold your arm up in the air so that the blood doesn't rush out and go to the hospital for treatment not only for stiches but you could have an infection in there and not know it ...

If its stopped bleeding then you only need to worry about infection. Start taking Echinacea ( Wal mart sells it ). It will boost your immunity. Use Dial soap to clean it . Put neosporin on it and keep it dry and clean.

This is only because you
CAN NOT go to the doctor. ( didn't you guys read that part? ) Be diligent in keeping it clean too. And if it starts getting infected , then you need to go to the ER.

The following will guarantee that you will not get an infection, it is not intended to address anything else. Get a wash cloth as soapy as possible with dial or safeguard soap. Wring it out just enough to stop dripping. Put it on cut and kinda pat it in and around injury. Soak for about 20min on and 20 off. Continue this practice until it begins to heal, then you can rely on antibiotic creme only. This soaking will not only make sure you do not get an infection, but will speed the healing. When not soaking you can use a bandage treated with antibiotic cream, and use it to pull sides of the cut together. You may have to get the bleeding to stop first. Hold pressure on wound, it bandage gets full of blood, do not remove it, add more bandages and keep the pressure on it. Someone said something about sewing it up yourself. It's not funny, if you can't get it to stop bleeding, and must have stitches, idk how else for you to handle that. Just make sure everything you use is sterile, or as clean as possible. Good luck.
peace
