$30-40 is a great fee but it's not average. Average is about $60.
If you have a YMCA near that has a karate program, you would be better off. I teach at the Y and the fee is $35 for 8 weeks. That is a great deal.
The memberships are separate and might vary from state to state but they have family memberships which offer great discounts. My Y charges $63 monthly for family, no matter the size.
You have the benefit of membership in a facility with a pool, B-ball, weights, Aerobics, After-School programs, etc, plus you know who is teaching your children.

All depends it usually runs $40-60 a month minus equipment but a lot of schools have quarterly & annually tuition charges only so it really depends. The most common annual fee is $1400-1600 depending on how rare training in that particular style is.

It depends on your area and the going rate for the schoos in your area. You should be able to contact your local schools and discuss rates with them. When I was training in my instructors dojo in the early 1990's, in the small town I lived in, it was $35 per month. In the Dojo that I run in Houston, Texas, I charge $75 and I am no where near the most expensive. Just depends.
