I'll tell you why...no, I'm just kidding! :)
Well, the reason Jehovah's Witnesses don't celebrate this holiday is because of where it originates from. It has pagan roots just like most other holidays.
The Roman ruler Julius Caesar established January 1 as New Year's Day in 46 B.C. The Romans dedicated this day to Janus, the god of gates, doors, and beginnings. The month of January was named after Janus, who had 2 faces, one looking forward and the other looking backward. (Reasoning)
Would God want us to celebrate a pagan holiday?

January 1- an Official Date of New Year Celebrations
The Roman emperor Julius Caesar officially declared January 1 to be a New Year in 46 B.C. ROMANS WORSHIPED GOD JANUS who had two faces, one looking forward and the other looking backward. The month of January was named after this Roman God and it gave an idea to the emperor to establish January as a gate to the New Year. It is said Caesar celebrated January 1 - New Year by ordering the revolutionary Jewish forces to route back.
Ex. 34:14 "For you must not prostrate yourself to another god, because Jehovah, whose name is Jealous, he is a jealous God"

As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, I really don't care one way or the other. It's your call.
If you do, remember to drink responsibly.

Nobody's stopping you. But don't blame us when you wake up the next morning with a gorilla in your bed that you thought was a beautiful woman the night before.

The cult of Jehovah Witnesses is a religion of works. You do the work, you hope you do enough to be accepted by God .
I would rather trust in Christ, my Savior and my GOD to save me. There is NOTHING I can ever do to earn eternal life.

first of all Jehovah is a misinterpretted name for god so the word jehovah doesnt mean what everyone thought before....any how theres nothing wrong with it unless you celebrate it and put it above Christ and his love. pretty simple answer
