I am 6' 3" and weighed 145lbs at 19 and got headaches.

Now I am 27 and weigh 198lbs, no change in diet I have always eaten more than any of my friends, just had a metabolism that burned it off as quick as I ate

No need to go to a doctor they will tell you his metabolism is crazy high and not to worry anf they will charge you for it

Don't worry my metabolism slowed at about 23, he will be and is fine

Don't worry - he's a little thin - so what? he probably doesn't have hypothyroidism - that would make him most likely overweight - he's fairly normal, I weighed 139 pounds at 21 when I was in the US Air Force.I weigh 210 now and am dieting to get to below 190 and actually was 260 at one time!!! I'm 45 now, when you are young you have a faster metabolism,(why do you think all those actresses can stay so scrawny while they're young)... he can drink protein and weight gain shakes he can get if he's concerned about his weight - but he's not that skinny - and there may come a day when he wishes he was that slim and able to eat whatever he wants! Don't worry! The doctor will say it's probably fairly normal as he's young and still growing - up to age 21 he'll be growing - and if he has migraines he can try an herb called feverfew DRIED capsules only - but with a doctor's approval only... good luck.. he doesn't weigh 120 like I did at 18 being 6'3" tall, and no one said anything eventually I just gained the weight ---best wishes...He'll gain weight as he gets older - and wishes he was so slim one day when he's an older guy when his metabolism slows down! P. S. I saw my niece's husband in his twenties go from skinny and underweight to hefty and overweight in five years after marriage and good cooking... so this isn't really something you should be too concerned about - if you marry him you may find out you'll have the same problem!!!

I'm 27 6 ft 145 pounds. Have been the same for years. Just the way God made me. I can eat all I want and not gain at all. Makes the ladies jealous, but there is nothing wrong with me. If he is losing a lot of weight it is an issue, and if he really wants to gain weight, there are supplements you can take, whether these are a good idea will depend on who you talk to . Personally, I'd say he's just fine and if he doesn't want to go to the doc (and wy would he) then he must me happy with the way he is.

My boyfriend is 32 and is 6'2'' and just barely made it to 160 lbs. He's been that way his entire life. I feed him like there's no tomorrow, and he doesn't gain a pound. It doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong - he could just have a crazy fast metabolism. Mine refuses to see a doctor too. And actually, up until recently, he weighed 145 lbs - he's gained some sympathy weight in the past 9 months that I've been pregnant ;) The migraines suck, but they're most likely unrelated to his weight. If he hasn't already done so, that IS something he needs to see a doctor about.

It could be any number of things.
Some serious, and some not.

Without a medical exam it would just be guess work.

He really needs to get a complete physical and also get checked for those migraines.

The time to start practicing good health habits (eating healthy, physical exercise, regular medical check ups, etc.) is when you are young.

Too many times people wait until they are older before they start to take good care of themselves, but they really should start earlier by not smoking, drinking alcohol, eating unhealthy foods, etc.).

He really needs to see a doctor to make sure he is okay, and then he needs to start taking better care of himself.

Are you the only one concerned about this? What does his family think about his health? Are they trying to get him to go to the doctor as well?

Let him know you care about him very much and that you just want to make sure everything is okay.

Also, remind him that if he goes to the doctor and everything is okay, then he will know for sure that he is okay.

Even if there is a problem, it is much better to detect these things early rather than to wait for them to get worse.

As long as he's eating a normal healthy diet, there's nothing to worry about on that score. He really should go to the doctor about the migraines. There are some very good prescription medications available to treat migraines.

Some people are just skinny.

He could have cluster migranes which are often caused by stress, lack of vitamins, not eating the right foods, and often lead to loss of appetite.

He needs to go to the doc and get an MRI AND Cat Scan of his body, as well as blood test to cover all bases.

Sorry to hear that.
Best of luck!

WIth the weight and height you gave, he has a body mass index of 20.9 which is in the ideal weight for a male.

The migranes are probably unrelated. Is he drinking enough water? Dehydration is a common cause.

At 19 years old his metabolism is zooming and the weight for a slim guy is hard to keep on. Believe me, give him a few years and he will be saying he wishs he could lose weight.
