Humans were never meant to die. We were ment to live in an earthly paradise forever. (Gen. 1:28 "Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it..."
Only Adams sin robbed us (Romans 5:12 "That is why, just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned"
At that very moment God put into place a plan that would balance the scales of justice and enable his ORIGINAL PURPOSE FOR THE EARTH to be fulfilled. (Gen 3:14 "14Â And Jehovah God proceeded to say to the serpent: “Because you have done this thing, you are the cursed one out of all the domestic animals and out of all the wild beasts of the field. Upon your belly you will go and dust is what you will eat all the days of your life. And I shall put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed. He will bruise you in the head and you will bruise him in the heel")

If you believe that Christ died for your sins and have accepted His death on the cross as your "living" sacrifice,
then to die is to gain.
If not... then good luck.

We live so we can know God. When we die we transition to eternal life which was given to us by Christ's sacrifice.

we only die because we have all sinned. Now we live to choose where we want to spend eternity, but our soul never dies.
