The largest poppy fields and exportation of heroin comes from Afghanistan. The largest legal exportation of heroin for medical usage comes from Turkey, but it is highly regulated by the government.

Both, but the majority of heroin comes from Afganastan. When we initially went to Afganastan, we destroyed much of the poppy fields, but they are back up and running. They are now producing more heroin then before the war started. The US is attempting to sway them not to continue with the production of heroin, but who cares what the US wants...after all, its not as if we liberated them from the rule of the Taliban or anything....!

Afghanistan is where the majority of the Heroin is produced for illegal consumption (around 650-750 tonnes this year) and Turkey mostly for legal use.
Burma then Laos then Thailand grow large quantities of opium and it is usually converted to Heroin in Thailand. This "Golden Triangle" counts for about 40-60 tonnes of Heroin.
