It's hard to lift your voice to injustice when you're not allowed to vote and the government claims that the laws are in place to protect it's women. Culture very often has a stronger foothold than education. Simply being educated (man or woman) doesn't improve conditions in places like Afganistan. There has to be major social reform, and the society as a whole has to WANT there to be changes.

Part if it is lack of communication. Women don't have support and empowerment groups over there so any idea for a rebellion would have a hard time cultivating.
Another part I believe is that they do fear the physical abuse, I know a lot of us here are guys and might find it hard to see where their coming from but lets think back to when we we're kids and just as vulnerable to physical abuse as women there are.
Lastly I think they are raised to believe in it.

Possibly because fighting back would get them publicly executed.
Seriously!!
What I can't understand is why women who live in free countries, like the United States, or the UK for example, would willingly remain in such a system...or, even worse, CONVERT to it.
The only think I can figure is they must be into S&M.

Don't you think they would if they could? You're talking about a society that lives in the 12th century. It's going to take a lot of time for the men in these muslim countries to evolve. I believe even Neaderthals treated their women better than muslims do....it's crazy!

Why might desire to the universe replace God ? God and the universe might desire to be one ! And someway the universe got here into being. each thing is sensible interior the universe - in the two macro- and micro cosmos, so it feels like the universe has a plan or is almost a huge plan/map and somebody might desire to have created this map or living house. no longer something comes into existence by utilizing itself. each thing must be brought about. perchance you may desire to study Thomas of Aquino. yet i will additionally turn the tables: why then, is it so illogical to evaluate that, perchance universe has continually been and has a writer.

because there is no one on their side, here in america and many other countries, this type of thing isn't tolerated because there are so many laws backing us up, and men on our sides that don't believe in treating women like crap. but over there, is no laws to support them, and no men on their sides, if they speak up, they will face much worse, most likely death. instead of protective laws, the laws are to beat them and put them in thier place. be glad you live in a free land.

If you and every single woman you've ever known were raised to believe this is the "natural order" of things, you won't know to question it. For them, it's a fact of life, not an unfortunate life event.

You live what you learn. These women have for decades watched as their mothers and grandmothers allowed this to happen to them. If you do not have the knowledge to look outside this practice, then the practice itself is not abnormal.

I think that's easier said than done.
If they get a major beating or flogging now, then what do you think they will get if they fought back...
