No - other books say they're telling the truth but everyone questions it and proves whether the book is true or not. You do that with the Bible and people get upset.

Just because the Bible says it's the truth doesn't make it so without evidence.

My Eddas were "divinely" inspired. Odin gives advice for common sense living but everyone dismisses it as "mythology". You say the Bible is mythology and people freak.

Is there a passage that states specifically that the entire book is true? Or is it that people want to take it as the truth? It was the truth from the point of view of the people who wrote it at the time, and in the context they were living in.... even when divine guidance is revealed to a person, the understanding of what is being said to them can still be influenced by who they are, where they live, their local culture, etc..........If you seek truth there, or in any other book, you will find it, if you seek mistakes or misinterpretations you will find that too...

It works for me. God says it is. I believe that the Bible is God's written Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.

“Above all you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” 2 Peter 1:20-21. (New International Version)

Breakdown of the Bible
36 human authors inspired entirely by God over 1600 years.
66 separate books

39 Old Testament
Genesis- The creation of the world, sin, flood and birth of Israel
Exodus to Esther- History of the nation of Israel
Job to Proverbs- the books of poetry and wisdom
Isaiah to Malachi- Prophecy or foretelling of the future events to come.

27 New Testament
Matthew to John - Four Gospels representing the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ now with all authority in Heaven and earth.
Acts- Birth of the Church (The Bride of Christ)
Romans to Jude - Letters to the Churches
Revelations - The ultimate future plans for: The Church, Heaven, Hell, a New Heaven and a New Earth.

John 8:30-32 (King James Version)

30As he spake these words, many believed on him.

31Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

32And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Jesus Christ thought so.
He said "the Scripture cannot be broken".
He also said this:
"But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one stroke of a letter of the Law to fail. "

So now it really comes down to this - either He was right and everyone who speaks to the contrary will be proved wrong - or else He was wrong and nobody really knows who is right.

I side with Jesus Christ.
I hope for your sake you don't think you are wiser than He.

Here is a "test" You ask the Holy Spirit" of God to come and be with you when you open the book..and to show you if or if not the contents of it are true or not...and He will be there with you as you begin...and as you read the pages..you will notice something...(and this is where i stop) if this is a ligit question, you will get a ligit answer..."Peace!"

99 % of the time yes. There are some miss translations in he bible. Some one posted them yesterday. My church has always claimed that the Bible is true as far as it is translated correctly. They are minor to the total of the bible.
