ok what you need to do is make a "refining mask", i current have acne and i took this one lotion and it chemically burnt my face what really soothed it was baking soda mixed with water... make the mask out of baking soda and water so it makes a paste and smear it on your face it should take dry flaky-ness away hope it works.

first off stop using peroxide cream. secondly, dont pick at it as it will worsen. of course...keep using you moisturizer. but maybe when you wash your face...dont scrub to hard and lower yourself to washing it once a day. put on the moisturizer before bed and a few times during the day....but the only reason it might be flaking is because your irritating it with all the washing and lotion applying. try this homemade face mask every other day:

INGREDIENTS:
-½ avocado
-¼ cup honey
PREPARATION:
A classic recipe for dry skin. Mash the avocado in a bowl, then stir in honey.
Apply to skin and leave for 10 minutes.
Rinse face with a cool washcloth.

Don't use any makeup on your face for a while. Try putting some milk on it instead. Or olive oil. When it comes time to buy something new, try using raw coconut oil from a health food store. It should fix the problem nicely.

You could probably find other natural oils you can use on your face to moisturize it too.

Two simple steps will have you glowing by New Year's Eve. Drink your water! We need to hydrate our bodies even more in winter because we are indoors and furnace heat is not friendly to our skin. A simple trick to see if you need to have some water-if your rings are tight on your fingers. It means your body is saving water because it thinks no more is coming. Chapped lips is another. Also use a humidifier in your home. The other thing I can suggest-don't use a facecloth they are far too harsh on the skin. And stop using rubbing alcohol on your skin! Switch to Witch Hazel. It's natural, non-stinging, easy to find at your drugstore and you won't pay ridiculous prices for it. Use the rubbing alcohol to clean your phone receiver-it's the cause of many break-outs on your chin! Hope that does the trick in time!

Use a very gentle exfoliator, if you don't have one already make one using your usual face wash mixed with any fine kitchen grains like salt, sugar, etc. Use tonight then coat in moisturiser. The finer grains the better though as anything harsh will just irritate it. Carry on moisturising every morning and night then exfoliate again on monday morning.
Good luck, if you put the time in looking after your skin you should see a result by new years x

You can do the home remedy thing that a lot of women use.

Get all the creams off, wash with soap and water right before bedtime. Hold a hot washcloth to your face for several minutes, then slather on vasoline and rub it in. Sleep with it 'sticky', wash it off in the morning and pat dry.

Vasoline promotes overnight skin healing on hands, legs, feet and face REALLY well and you don't have to worry about side effects of perfume or chemicals in creams.

Use a moisturizer in between when you wash your face. When my skin gets dry and flaky, I stop using make-up and I moisturize four or six times a day. If I don't have access to my regular moisturizer, I have resorted to regular hand lotion to sooth my skin. I have serious dry patches.

try exfoliating with sugar. sugar is gentle and is a natural healer and humectant. put a spoonful of sugar in the palm of your hand and mix with just enough water to make it a paste. then, scrub your face gently with it for a couple of seconds. rinse well, pat dry with a clean towel. you could put a layer of plain old honey on your face for a minute or two at this point, but beware. it can be messy! after that, put a layer of aloe gel on your face before applying your moisturizer. don't do this more than once every three days; your face just needs time to heal.

i do the above on my hands in the wintertime when they get dry and scaly. works like a charm.

try exfoliating gently. rubbing the area that is flaky with a wet washcloth in a circular motion may help. I have also found that aloe vera is great for flaky skin. If you can find some at the store or have some at home, just rub that into your skin. It doesn't soak in right away, but keep rubbing it in gently. Do this several times a day and the flakiness will be gone.

STOP washing your face so much. It seems like you are a bit obsessed with your face. You are washing out the needed nutrients and oils. Yes, put on your moisturizer. Only was your face with mild soap and STOP using peroxide. Try to let your face breathe. Relax.
