I am thinking of getting the orange box (ps3) but is it a continuation of anything?

The orange box will give you the ENTIRE Half life 2 series.

So you can start with Half Life 2, which is included, and then go on to play Half life 2, episode 1, and then episode 2

plus there are other games available as well

Oh yeah, half life 2 is a continuation of Half-Life 1, but that game is so old you probably can't find it anywhere

Plus it's not really important. you can play hl2 without playing HL and you will be fine

Yes, it's a collection of games steming from Original Half-life game released for PC almost 10 years ago. It was ported to PS2 awhile back, you could probably play that 1st for $20 and get cuaght up to speed.

And the Orange Box is actually FIVE GAMES, not 4 like someone said:
